Wow! What planet do you live on ... Montana?

Here are two key differences with the US:
*Europe has government health care that produce a life-span four years longer than in America.
*Tertiary education is free, gratis and for nothing. (About a $1000 per year whilst in the US it is 14-times as much at a state-school). Meaning that education-benefits in Europe are far greater than in the US.

Europe does not have an armed force as large as the US, true enough. But it is far from puny as well. As well, France is fighting a war against ISIS in Africa, which the US is not. As wars go, I think we've all had our fill after Uncle Sam's expeditions to the Middle-east over the past 10/15 years! Which were extremely costly and the result is a huge deception!

Yes, the US contributes to Europe's defense - but in personnel not financing. There are total of around 64,000 US personnel stationed in Europe (all five services - see here). Compare that to the other "theatres of operation" that are listed in that report linked. The only reason the 7th fleet is in Naples is because of the Russian fleet in Tartus (Syria). They are two-days sailing distance from one another.

The US expenditures in Europe are purely to sustain American personnel. Each EU nation has its own Defense Budget. If the US military presence is there, it is because of the Russian army and navy that are also there ...

I am not clear what Clinton's deception was.

We are not the united people of America. We are the United States of America. And btw, Clinton did not win the popular vote. She got 66 million votes. The majority, 69 million votes, went for others.

    THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! is the PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You may get your wish. It's too bad some people only learn by falling headlong into the pit and having to suffer through the experience. But when you take the rest of us with you, it's time to struggle against YOU TOO.

I agree. Authoritarian government is bad. If we gave dictatorial powers to almost anyone it would end badly. To those who would be benevolent dictators I am opposed on principle.

Not everything is about results: stats, GDP, productivity - there has to be a human element. I would rather live poor and free than rich and in chains.

You think we live under an Authoritarian(or to be specific, an Imperial) state now? Lol. We live under a circus where Nancy Pelosi is house speaker, where the Democrats are virtually anonymous politically and the other party's only value is as a valve against further change("progress"), that could prove to be destructive.

    Ancient Greece, we are not.

Rubbish! Let's see a verification of what you say.

Unless WikiPedia is lying (here), the outcome of the Clinton-Trump vote for the presidency came out as follows:
The popular-vote should be sufficient to win any bonafide election. The Electoral College is a thief! Its "winner-takes-all" rule allows the total allocation of all state-votes to the winner. As if the winner had won by means of 100% of the vote! (Meaning the votes of the loser are totally negated!)

Which is an outright manipulation of the popular-vote that has been at the heart of American democracy since the 12th Amendment was formulated and passed in 1812! And has allowed five losers of the popular-vote for the presidency to be declared the election-winner by both houses of Congress (as required by law).

Get your facts straight ... !

I did not say Clinton, did I.

The war-over-in-the-desert was America's attack upon Iraq. Which was conducted by the Bush2 Administration in 2003.

You are casting aspersions without any corroborating data. Nancy was duly elected as Head of the HofR, like all others since its inception. The fact that she is a woman makes no difference whatsoever.

The Dems are NOT virtually anonymous in the HofR. It's your Donald Dork who is getting all the attention as he bounces off all the doors in the White House (when he's not watching Fox Poohs on TV).

America's First Madman is occupying our presidential palace ...

You think I object to her incompetence because she's a woman? No, it's because she's a disgrace that can't pass anything meaningful(that could be passed by the Senate.). Ontop of her failure to get her own house to pass anything that's meaningful, her 'investigations' are tied up in the courts, Nadler looks like a drooling mad man and you think this disgusting excuse for government, is "government"

She is the WORST speaker in American History. Period. And the very fact that we think being a "woman" is at play, is further proof of the corrosion and failure that is democracy. Democracy corrodes even intelligence and political thought.

You wanted data of their incompetence, right? Well, here you go:

    https://www.congress.gov/search?q={...se","bill-status":"president","congress":116}

And of those 11 bills, we're not going to remember a damn one of them. Much of the "major" legislation her pathetic House has passed, even if McConnell did bring it up for a vote would be voted down on majority lines.(And in the case of HR.1, has constitutional challenges.)

We live under a government in which one renegade party has abandoned 200 years of tradition, is seeking one-party rule, is undermining and co-opting the three previously "separate-but-equal" branches, trying to destroy and take control of state-approved media, destroying non-partisan U.S. intel while establishing state-owned compliant "intel", has appointed a personal top-tier lawyer as an AG who does his bidding, and the wannabee dictator is talking about doing up to 5 terms in office, which would make him 90 years old. And you just calmly, agreeably go along with it. The story of the frog in the pot coming to a boil is now reality. Your circumstances are coming to a boil and you don't realize it.

"meaningful" is the operative word. We all celebrated the opioids bill for example, right? It's great to get dangerous drugs off the street and not to incarcerate, but to help victims. I think we agree even to that much.

But then there are productive bills like this that are stuck unfortunately by the political climate:

    https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/539/text?r=93&s=8

And said productive bills are a rarity, not a commonality. Like Trump said, either 'resist' or govern but they clearly can't do both.

I must agree we have too much gun violence in the United States. The majority of it is drug gang- turf war crap. The city Chicago has the toughest gun laws on the books, and yet, already this year there have been over 530 shootings. France has had it's share of package and car bombings. That method has become more prevalent lately in the US. I see in your latest EU elections that the Nationalists anti- immigrant candidates have gained seats. Could this be a trigger for more Muslim bombings?

How do feel about Marine Le Pen and her National Rally political party? Should Macron resign and let her become President? I see the Greens are gaining ground in the EU. Do you think this is a good or bad thing?

12th amendment went into effect in 1804. As to earlier posts: the tradition of winner-take all EVs per state has given us a Preside with only 39%. The older policy of Electors dividing votes so no one wins once gave us the House giving the election to the man in an Electoral and popular vote second place.
If 25% voted for Gary Johnson possibly the winner would be cautious about his or her actions and comments.
If Johnson also got 25% of the EVs the House would have decided the winner. Some Congressmen would have spent 2 years explaining their vote and-if defeated-we might expect a different result in 2020.
    That would be better.

Don't count on it. Europe is not the US. Which is why I am here. (And I'm not the only Yank in Europe. We are close half a million who live here full time..)

The only time a gun is used is to hunting game. I remember the days back when it was like that in the US.

Not any more. Nowadays, you or I could be the game!

Marine LePen is a negative vote. When you have nothing better to do, you vote Marine.

There is no way in hell or France that Macron would resign to let her become president of France.

In the EU, it's a good thing. But it means virtually nothing on a country-by-country basis. (Now that I think of it - that's how the US works as well ...)

Writing a bill that goes nowhere is part of the "political game" in LaLaLand on the Potomac.

What makes you think that the Replicants don't place the same game ... ?

What nonsense. There are previous Presidents like FDR that put Americans in concentration camps. There are previous Presidents like Woodrow Wilson that put reporters in jail. There are previous Presidents like Lincoln that revoked civil liberties. There are other Presidents that also jailed reporters.

Nothing like that has happened under Trump but by the hysterics of the left one would think that democracy has been eliminated because...TDS.

You are overlooking the fact that the Senate majority is Replicant.

So, the above applies to any Dem bill that gets passed in the HofR ...

I think Donald Dork is not even an excuse for a president.

    He's a sham ...

    Blah, blah, blah.

Go take a long walk and seeks some sense. You are pissing into a Debate Forum ....
