American education in the XXI century

    News like this become more and more popular. Everyone seems to have his own opinion on teachers testing and control.

    However, many forget about the bigger picture. In order to compete with China and other Asian states the US has to invest heavily in education, preparing our students for the needs of the XXI century. From this point of view, testing staff is not enough.

    Did you actually read the article? The controversy is whether or not to rate teachers based on their student's test scores, not testing the teachers.

    We do compete with China fairly well head to head intellectually. We can't compete with them in factory production, because Americans are not willing to work long hours for low pay. 7

    I read the article. I was not talking about it contents' though.
    I know we are doing pretty well right know but things can (and will) change. It was more about our educational system forecasts.
