Not really...….., a NATO member with the largest and best Ground Forces, while the US Army sucked big time in the 70s, probably the worst ground forces of all of NATO.

After Vietnam the US Army switched from a draft system to a professional system. They had huge recruitment problems.
The quality of people was rather low, drug problems were huge. Officer core was a low moral, still struggling with Vietnam and the image at home. Naturally the condition of their troops did not help with their moral.
    Disciplinary problems.
The US Army had wasted it self in Vietnam.
It took to the 80s till it started to become good.
It would have been a serious problem if the Warsaw Pact had attacked in the 70s.

I didn’t know that. But I bet Soviet government did. 70s is when the USSR system started to relax certain things.

I figure the Warsaw Pact had some serious problems themselves. Now we know how low moral was in the Soviet Army, maybe their #1 tank units did not have to bad a problem. But today I would doubt that they would have been willing to take the beating, it would have taken to break through. The losses would have been unreal.
Its different if you defend your country or if you invade a country far away from home.

Considering the first mention of slavs is 5th to 6th century ad im impressed germans can now timetravel to.

As for the germanic people beating romans.
Main reason germany east of the rhine was never conquered because it was a shitty place back then. Difficult farmland no infrastructure. One roman tryd and after teutoberg they basicle and **** it, wasnt worth it

That sayd the belgica gaul/germanic tribe eburon living near here and massacred a entire legion and half and did manage to piss ceasar of pretty good. Stil got a statue of their leader in tongeren not far from here. So they didnt go down without a good fight

This is not quiet correct. The Romans came many times back across the Rhein. In the last ten years some rather large battle fields have been discovered, way past the Limes line and rather deep into the territories of the tribes.
The Romans tried rather hard to completely defeat those tribes. They were never really able to do so, or gain a foothold past the Limes line.
But they sure marched hundreds of miles through and into the tribal lands for a few centuries and had themselves some nice battles.
Armenius/Sigfried was a unique person and was only for a short time able to unite the tribes. When he got to big for his britches the tribes took care of him.

Fortunately the West Germans and British were in pretty good shape.

I worked with US Special Forces, they were amazing, the Brits were truly good, they had this special spirit, based on the history of their units.
The 2 I would never ever screw around were the Belgian paras, those are some very ruthless and tough SOBs and those boys from the Legion, they are truly the toughest of the toughest and the best of the best..
I did a 3 month stint with them

And luckily the other side had its own problems.
The central European troops and the UK, were outstanding, all of them.
The US was the threat from WWII, what could happen if you wake up the giant and its nuclear force, mutual destruction.
I was when I served not very convinced that the US could mobilize fast enough and bring those troops across the Atlantic.
We were convinced that with in 4 weeks the fighting would be over. Who would win no idea, but by than the Armies would be destroyed. The hope was that the US would than would have enough mobilized and brought across the Atlantic and roll back the Warsaw Pact. Stem the tide.
I think it would have worked. We were better equipped, better trained and better motivated, through out our amies.
We did not have #1 units, we were all #1 units.
I can not recall that any of the units of the Brits, Dutch, Belgian or French or German were considered nothing but #1 units. They were top notch.
I am not bashing the US, I worked with outstanding soldiers from the US, but in the 70 and into 80, it was the European Armies who had the quality to stand up against the Warsaw Pact, not the US

But, most of those incursions were of a punitive nature, not to conquer and settle. The Germanic tribes didn't have the infrastructure the Celts had when they were conquered so it wasn't worth the effort to conquer east of the Rhine.

Nobody really knows. The battle fields are there and the fights have been rather tough, considering the amount of Roman bolts found.
No Roman records, mentioned the continues war past the Limes line.
What ever one could call infrastructure in those times. But my guess the terrain and rather thick forests, were a natural barrier.
I am from that part of Germany. Very hilly, steep, narrow valleys, which used to be full of swamps, many small rivers, creeks and so on and than the thick natural forest and a rather crappy weather. For a Roman style Army a horrible place and a deadly trap.
If they had gotten past it, they would have had perfect Land.
It is actually very fertile Land, especially the valley bottoms. Some rather good minerals can be found.
One site is spectacular, a meteor hit and the ore, above and underground, was highly thought after by the Romans for their swords. They traded for it.

"Blah, blah, blah?......sounds like you **** your pants. Another one of those demonstrably false (isn't that what you told me) links.

41K+ posts.....and I'll hazard a guess there's dozens of these kinda postings of yours with dubious links.

Perhaps guidance systems problem from a mobile launching platform, requiring further radar cross section to enhance detection using low frequency radio waves.

Yes zoom - please provide one example to support the above accusation - otherwise quit making it.

The truth is that you are projecting - Projection is a psychological defense mechanism in which individuals attribute characteristics they find unacceptable in themselves to another person"

I know it - many others know it - and so do you :)
