I went to high school in a large public high school in the early '70s. The entire student body had to take P.E. every day, all four years. Times have changed ...
Actually we're not the fattest in the world, but we're pretty bad. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/maps-and-graphics/the-most-obese-fattest-countries-in-the-world/
I haven't weighed myself in quite a while. As long as I'm still fitting into my clothes, I don't weigh myself. The last time I weighed myself, I was about 104-105 pounds. That is a pretty good weight for me. The most I've ever weighed (aside from when I was pregnant, but we won't talk about THAT!), was around 114. I thought I was a bit on the heavy side for my size and body type, but my ex LOVED it. Lol. He likes big butts and big boobs (typical man - sigh).
I guess you didn't read the link. We ARE the fattest country in the world according to the link I posted.
Sad fact. European furniture makers who sell chairs in the US make their product 4" wider in the seat for the American market.
Oh come on! I'm willing to bet that the "health minister" is extremely unhealthy. You cannot possibly be healthy and be that large. She must way close to 400 pounds at least!
I think that perhaps pork has a fair bit to do with obesity in Polynesia. Someone who'd been to a resort in the area, can't remember which island, said that the men just sit around eatng pork. I thought it sounded amusing.
Oops, that information was in another link I was going to post, so here it is. http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/america-fattest-country-world A new study released by the Global Burden of Disease published in Lancet lists the ten countries with the highest rate of obesity. America weighs in at number 1. According to the study, 78 million Americans are obese or 33% of the population. China registers as number 2 on the list with 46 million obese citizens or 4.4% of the adult population. The rest of the list. 3. India: 30 million people, 3.8% of the adult population 4. Russia: 28 million people, 24% of the adult population 5. Brazil: 22 million, 16.2% of the adult population 6. Mexico: 20 million people or 26.9% of the adult population 7. Egypt: 18 million or 35.9 percent of the adult population. 8. Germany: 16 million or 24.3 percent of the adult population. 9. Pakistan: 14 million or 13.6 percent of the adult population. 10. Indonesia: 11 million or 6.8 percent of the adult population.
Eating a lot of calories without doing a lot of activity is kind of the bottom line. For me it's a problem of getting full, and pork seems to do better than sugar for me. Their genetics probably don't help though. Oh I see. The reason is they didn't include the smaller countries that are fatter. The obesity rate in some Polynesian nations is 70-80%. Also the study is from 2014. Egypt has since passed us.
Nauru had no diabetes or obesity problems until the phosphate was mined. With all the money coming in, they had no need to fish and the western diet was their undoing. Diabetes, heart disease,obesity- all the usual suspects.
Beer contains carbohydrates. There's a saying: if you want to lose weight, drink beer before dinner. If you want to gain weight, drink beer after dinner.
Why on Earth do they base the list on number of people instead of percentage of population? Only 3% of Indians are obese yet they score no.3 on the list lmao. Is there any stats on obesity based on gender and age? Although alot of 'Merican chicks are fatties, at least my stereotype is that young, 'Merican chicks care way too much about their appearence to ever go full elephant. There cannot be too many "college aged" Americanesses who are obese...or can there?
Yeah, I noticed that too. If you go by percentage of population, we are not the most obese in the world either. There are TONS of overweight/obese American women and girls. Too many.
Land of the free and the home of the fat. Overweight and obese is not the same. I do not trust overweight stats because I do not know how autistic they are in their interpretation of the term; do they count someone who is +0,5 lbs above "recommended weight" as overweight? Do bodybuilders and other steroid-pumping ***** qualify as overweight too? The rates in Sweden are ridiculously low according to my own orofessional eyeballing. Sure there are a couple of fatties here and there, but rarely do I ever see someone obese. But, if I had to guess, I would say that it is increasing here too although I cannot really say it is anything I have observed.
