"Fifty percent of Americans overall say they view the enacting of new anti-gun violence laws and firearm restrictions as a top legislative priority. But among young Americans under 30, there was a 20 percent drop in support since 2018."

I predicted some of this, many years ago. Probably a part of that reason is the Hispanic population in the US has rapidly grown and Hispanics come from a culture that does not like being told what to do.
This won't necessarily translate into gun control laws not getting passed, however, because many of these same Hispanics will still vote for politicians who want to enact more gun control.

Yeah I don't think that's the reason why. I think it's more so a mixture of covid fears, and a rise of political extremism. Political violence encourages people to get guns.

some people see the lies that Biden pushes. He whines about 100 round magazines and corporations that don't pay taxes when his real goal is banning 11 round or more magazines and soaking anyone who makes more than 400K (the group that already pays the most disproportionate share of the FIT)

There's also the whole "police violence" narrative being focused on by the news media. With the accompanying BLM movement, it's possible younger black people (especially males) are not feeling so keen about more gun control laws with the reduced level of trust in police.

Because they are aware that that all gun control bills exclude the cops from being included in not being legally allowed to have whatever is being banned. The result would just make the cops more powerful as they would have all the best guns.

Millennials and iGen's have strong libertarian streaks as a group. That sometimes plays out is seemingly contradictory fashion when analyzed through a Dem/GOP or Progressive/Conservative lens. They are independents and favor candidates left or right who seem to have authenticity in their beliefs. They can support Obama or Trump because they have clear visions, rightly or wrongly, and largely don't support politicians seen as playing politics like Hillary.

Gun control is based on lies. Good to see people are waking up.
