Seems like just the other day democrats laughed at those of us saying "drill baby drill" and that America could break OPEC and it's strangle hold on us. Who's laughing now?
Also seems like just the other day democrats were screaming "peak oil". Then new fracking and oil shale technology showed up. So much for yet another leftist myth.

"The epic American oil boom is just getting started. OPEC, on the other hand, is stuck on the sidelines.

US oil production is on track to spike to a record 13.4 million barrels per day by the end of 2019, according to a recent report by energy research firm Rystad Energy. Texas alone is expected to soon top 5 million barrels per day in oil production — more than any OPEC member other than Saudi Arabia.
Not surprisingly, America is importing less from OPEC — 1.5 million barrels per day as of March, the lowest level in three decades. In the past decade alone, imports from OPEC have fallen 75%."

Fracking: In addition to air and water pollution, fracking also increases the potential for oil spills, which can harm the soil and surrounding vegetation. Fracking may cause earthquakes due to the high pressure used to extract oil and gas from rock and the storage of excess wastewater on site.

Anyone that supports fracking most likely support repealing clean air and water standards.

As for oil, the US currently produces enough oil — 11.3 million barrels per day (b/d) — that we could completely end our reliance on foreign oil and opec. We have since about mid way through Obama’s second term after reaching the lowest production since the 50’s during Bush 2.

Its so nice to be a top energy producer again after the Obama years.

We don't need oil from arabs, but we can buy it as needed.

Iran's games in the Persian gulf would have led to war just a few years ago.

yeah but big city states, such as ny, have already committed to closing all of their oil fired (fossil fueled) power plants within 10 years... such is the dem logic... they're also on the verge of forcing every homeowner to install solar panels & levying fines (via property taxes) for not complying... lots of bs coming from the dem party...

I think you are confusing oil powered vs gas powered. Both are fossil fuels.
I don't think solar is a big seller in NY.

Guess among your many shortcomings, you also can't read a chart. Take a look at post #2.

Good deal. God bless America. So why are gas prices stuck at $2.50 - $3.10 a gallon? Gas was 2 bucks a gallon under Obama.

then you haven't listened to cuomo and his cohort de-blasio when they announced closing all 28 fossil fueled power plants and requiring windmills atop nyc skyscrapers ... yep, they're that stupid...

yeah ok fella... there are 1000's of acres of solar farms here on long island and growing, judging by my street one in three has solar panels (albeit at a higher lease fee than the grid costs), also just got hit with 'water conservation tax' for what the dembo's say is over use...

Because it doesn’t matter how much we produce when it is just shipped out of the states for the sake of higher bidders. Oil companies “buy” our natural resources and ship them to foreign nations based on the highest bidder. The US citizen gains virtually nothing.

Lol I can't remember when gas was less than 3 bucks a gallon here.

That is because lefties control the state (so its cheaper to receive oil, refine it into gasoline, and then ship it to arizona) and they make more "profit" (tax) than the "evil" oil companies make in profits.

    Lefties do things like this.

course our oil is more expensive then oversea oil, as we pay our workers better... though we do allow foreign oil companies to drill on our shores and sell us our oil back to us

If the dotard trump had been potus then, he would have demanded that we mine more coal.

Just paid $2.029 here yesterday. Been steady going down, even six tankers being hit could not stop the decline.

First you trash new US oil production then you attempt to "credit" Obama for it. Funny stuff!

Simple answer. The slow economy under Obama didn't require much fuel. Supply and Demand dictate price and demand is high as Trump got our economy off it's fat socialist ass.
