Is Twitter giving us more, proof, that this will always be a bitterly racist nation? Why are people even asked a question, like this, about athletes who entertain us? What kind of wicked evil, human, can feel hate for a ball player who has no tangible effect on lives?

Are athletes our politicians who pass laws that make us want them out of office? Are athletes our annoying, trifling neighbors who make our street look bad? Are athletes our bosses at our jobs who antagonize, daily, to the point where we want to quit?? If the answers are, no, to those ?'s or similar ?'s then...

What kind of a USA citizen, directs their hatred at pro-Sports entertainers?

The overwhelming majority of well known basketball players are not white. Most of the absolute best are black. Most of the absolute best athletes in general are hated by rival fans.

    This is simple math here.

No one buys your fake outrage. Pretty poor attempt.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_ethnicity_in_the_NBA

This is from 2015 and a growing trend for African Americans.

75% of the NBA is black, and if you go by MVP and finals chase (playoff winners) the best players (likely to be most hated) are 100% black.

Once again, this thread is nothing but an Al Sharpton-like attempt to find a racecard to pull.

    Straight up pathetic lol

Your illogical rage that you posted here = you did not bother to address even, one question, which I would have posed in the thread title and/or OP here.

    lol

And thanks too, for imploding your own argument here. Yes, when you admitted yourself that the NBA is not 100% darkskinned Blacks. Juuust like this thread's title addresses :)

    ...

    skinny: get on topic!

May I suggest a little research on the ratios of skin color in sports, the NBA in particular? Attempting to paint something like this as 'racist' is a very sad, and pretty much solidly places you in the 'laugh at' category....

I don't believe very many people hate any wealthy NBA players, and if they do, it is rather stupid behavior. But if you decided you were going to hate a wealthy NBA player, you would just about have to hate a black player because black guys win, by far, most of the spots on NBA teams.

I did address the topic, but apparently, you don't think you actually need to understand the basis of your OP, to post it. My emotions have nothing to do with it. Reality is funny that way.

Okay, I can respect that. Although you sort of sound like a different member, unfortunately, when you argue with points which might not really exist. For example do you see how your argument can be, rational, only if the NBA was made up of 100% Dark-skinned Blacks?

Like I alluded to earlier...Why does Twitter have no interest in this similar study for...NHL? PGA? MLB? MLS? ATP? ... why? ... because those sports are not synonymous with dark-skinned Blacks, is all.

    It's the dark-skin.

That is what allows Twitter to have humans, USA citizens, with an interest in voicing hatred for someone who's entertaining them.

Just ... more proof ... that every aspect of our society displays, proof, that we owe Black people reparations.

That's true in the aspect that if one was an exceptional NBA player hater they could hate tall, wealthy Chinese NBA players.

imo Curry gets so much love because he just keeps making the 3's from anywhere on the court, not because of his lighter complexion. He is astonishing to watch, his accuracy is almost unbelievable, so people love the guy.

Here I think your reference to him being, subconscious, could be a sign that his skin lightness exactly plays into the way he is loved via the way he's presented to us by big media which brainwashes us all.

If he didn't make the 3's like a phenomenal wizard nobody would pay him a bit of attention. Nobody would know his name. He might be playing somewhere in Europe, known only to locals there.

    Exactly.

Unlike Lebron, because that is the only image we are fed of Steph Curry. Thanks to skin lightness??

    ...hmmm...

Why are we not constantly fed Steph's shortcomings, like we get to gulp down on Lebron & KD shortcomings and criticisms, since 2010? The Warriors lost in 2016 because Steph couldn't hit 3s in game 6 and Steph couldn't hit any shot at all in game 7. But somehow, Draymond missing gm5 is the reason CLE won the chip. tsk tsk.

Steph cannot play good defense, but we are not fed that image of him. Skin lightness? Steph could not stop Lebron, in 2015, but Andre Iguadola could ---so guess who won 2015 NBA Finals MVP? And this Season, like earlier this month, we really got to see that Steph can't hit 3s when it counts ... but that is not the image we got fed, of him:

    Skin lightness.

If asked who epitomizes NBA basketball more than any other man, bar none, imo most people would answer Michael Jordan. That would be my answer.

But if he wasn't unbelievably, almost superhumanly skilled, nobody would know his name. It is also my opinion that he is a dark-skinned black man.

Will Zion Williamson equal or surpass Michael Jordan? It remains to be seen. It is such a high bar that it seems unlikely.

btw 47 points is no small feat for Curry. But iirc Jordan scored way beyond that in an NBA finals.

most of the players are dark skinned, I think sports and IT are one of the areas with the least racism, if you can do the job, people want you

well IT is starting to discriminate against Americans, they prefer foreigners - but that is cause they are cheaper, not due to race

I am not into sports, but most of the good players I see have dark skin, you can look it up and correct me if I am wrong

I think it is that way in most areas, in some there are racist whites and blacks that only prefer to hire their own race, but those are a minority

as the job situation gets worse more will blame the lack of jobs on "others" though I think - the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer regardless of race

It was on topic, as you addressed it as 'Is Twitter giving us more, proof, that this will always be a bitterly racist nation?'

It is only racist from your perception, because you didn't bother acknowledging the ratio of dark skinned people who excel at the game, to the overall number of players and their skin tone. The better the player, the more reviled they will be when they beat a different player, favored by a different person.

As to sad, and laughable, see above. I just happen to think you need to know where you stand in real life.

What kind of person directs hatred at Adolph Hitler, who has had no direct impact on anyone's life today? I think if you conducted your study on the most loved NBA player today you might have come up with Michael Jordan. Guess what? He's Black too. How does that fit into your little theory of racism? What kind of citizen directs their emotions along lines of their own choosing regardless of race? Not one who follows your racist lines of thinking I guess.

I would ask the same of any USA citizen that directs their admiration to someone who makes millions of dollars tossing a ball around. If Americans put 1/4 of their sports enthusiasm toward politics instead, our country would be a million times better.

F sports, F millionaire 'athletes' and F people who's lives revolve around someone elses game.

OK, Im a little jaded on the issue... but you get my point.

Your thread is in regards to civil rights, as cited FOR YOU, the OVERWHELMING NBA audience is black.

So why is black people hating black people, a civil rights issue?
