That’s not what she’s doing. Her and other blue governors are manipulating this crisis to use it to take away the rights of otherwise law abiding citizens. She and other blue governors are what the store owner said Whitmer is.

And a lot of people thought that seat belts were dangerous. They thought it was better to be "thrown free" of an accident.

    Same energy.

I'm also going to start driving on the wrong side of the road from now on. Why should government get to dictate to me what side of the road I can drive on, even if my actions endanger other people. AUTHORITARIANISM!

I will fire my guns in any direction at any time no matter who is the line of fire. Why should the government get to dictate to me where I can and can't shoot, even if my actions endanger others. AUTHORITARIANISM!

I have decided to reroute my septic system right into the center of town. Why should the government get to dictate to me where I can and cannot put my sewage, even if my actions endanger other people. AUTHORITARIANISM!

I am going to start cooking up my own medicines at home, with whatever ingredients I can find, no matter their danger, and I will not label them. I will then sell them to folks. Why should the government get to dictate to me what I can and cannot put in medicine and whether or not I can be honest about it. AUTHORITARIANISM!

I am going to kidnap people, whenever I want, and do to them whatever I want. I will take their property and ruin their lives. Why should the government get to dictate to me what I can and cannot do to another person. AUTHORITARIANISM!

One day, this country will grow up and realize that laws and regulations are for sissies and a real country just lets people do whatever they want. A real country doesn't worry about the greater good to society or protects it's infrastructure and vital institutions. A real country knows that an inconvenience to someone, however small it may be, is too high a price to pay for having a functional civil society.

We need only look to the successful countries across the world who live that way and enjoy the bounties of such a system. Just look at them all. Why can't we be like them?

    Okay, I'll ask again.

Banks? I thought this was about an ammo store.

How is your reply relevant to my post?

In any case shouldn't it be the driver's or passenger's decision to wear a seatbelt or not?

If it weren't about masks, then they wouldn't ban masks. They aren't just protesting "authoritarianism," they are deliberately putting their customers and employees at risk, as well as those they come into contact with, in order to throw a childish temper tantrum.

Okay. The ammo store is a private business. No one is forcing you to get within 6 feet of their store.

Their business, their rules. The customer has a choice and no government involvement.

This may be a shock, but, a good leader can be honest without causing a panic! I'm totally serious!!!!! FDR did it after Pearl Harbor, Kennedy did it during Bay of Pigs. Most of the world's leaders did it earlier this year.

That you don't think it's possible is interesting.

Yes. And people are free to criticize stupid rules. Conservatives went nuts over private businesses requiring masks. They went nuts over private business bathroom policies. They go nuts when a private business puts up signs that say "Happy Holidays." You can agree with a business's right to do something while still criticizing their decision to do it.

It continues to floor me that people pretend they don't understand this concept. I don't see how anyone could honestly believe it.

Incomprehensible "response." If you think something was incorrect about my statement, feel free to spell it out. Shouldn't be a big ask.

Your opinion is illogical because because business person wants to harm customers or employees. His complaint is about the authoritarianism.

So you are saying that anyone willing to intentionally put their employees and customers in harm's way to prove a ridiculous point, is a good thing?

No. Sometimes people are too stupid for their own good.

In addition to lives saved, the reduction in injuries saves a ton of money.

But if there was no cost to anyone else, I could accept that as a valid argument. Unfortunately you can't say the same thing for not wearing a mask.

I didn't say "wants" to harm them. I said he put them at harm. He has. Objectively. As you well know. Maybe he doesn't want to, but that's what he's done.

If his complaint were about authoritarianism, then he wouldn't BAN ALL MASKS from his property. He would allow it to be a choice. He shows more opposition to masks themselves than he does to authoritarianism. It would be like banning all hardhats from your construction site just to stick it to OSHA. Absolute insanity. Please tell me people are smarter than this.
