It's worth the 3 minutes out of your life to learn how one of Franklin's quotes is usually taken out of context.

    https://www.npr.org/2015/03/02/3902...safety-quote-lost-its-context-in-21st-century

There is another saying sometimes attributed to Franklin, most often thought of as biblical, that is neither.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/blog/2...-those-who-help-themselves-isnt-in-the-bible/

    You're welcome for the knowledge.

Also, did you know while the ACA is commonly referred to by conservatives as being "rammed" thru Congress, the bill was the result of a 8 month negotiation involving (at Obama's request since he wanted bi-partisan support) Repubs and Dems. And that a number of Repubs who voted against the ACA praised its private market centric approach when the idea of a mandate was first broached by conservatives in MA? And that while Reid ultimately used a procedural vote to get the bill passed in the Senate to avoid a Repub filibuster it had the support of 59 senators? Now you know.

"You can keep your doctor and your health care". "Each family will save $2500 per year." We forced to buy something that many could not afford to use.

How many republicans voted for it? It was passed by a democratic president, house and senate.

And it absolutely shouldn’t have been.
Obama should have given Republicans the middle finger and passed a national healthcare program.

We should not negotiate with traitors.
Hopefully they have learned this lesson, if they have the numbers there is no reason to be bipartisan

If ACA is so bad, why hasn't the GOP repealed it?

Obama said what he wanted to happen. Not what did happen. It was a far bigger lie than say, Trump exaggerating numbers at a rally, that Democrats thought were SO HORRIBLE!!!

That’s the most amusing part. Obama’s lies were far reaching and coordinated. Trumps lies were mostly meaningless blather on the spot.

"The Affordable Care Act received 39 votes against it in the Senate, all from Republicans. One senator abstained from voting. In the House, the ACA received 212 votes against it, with 34 coming from the Democratic Party and 178 from the Republican Party. There were enough votes for the ACA in the Senate to prevent an attempt to filibuster the bill, while the House vote required a simple majority."

    That is hardly "bi-partisan".

If you say something intending it to be true and later circumstances dictate it can't be done, is that a lie?

that meant you would not be forced to take the public option, were you, nope, most of us are still under the thumb of our employer on what our choices are

some employers require the insurers not to cover birth control as an example, don't blame the government for what your employer decides for you

    Obama worked with republicans

"Obama, GOP's Snowe work on health care compromise"

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/02/health.care.compromise/

"The compromise plan would lack a government-run public health insurance option favored by Obama, but would leave the door open to adding that provision down the road under an idea proposed by Snowe, the sources said."

Keeping up with Trump's lies is like trying to memorize a snowstorm.

Not a single Republican voted for it in either house of Congress. Now you know.

    so Trump was for Socialism?

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...verybody-in-replacing-obamacare-idUSKBN15005C

"“We’re going to have insurance for everybody,” Trump said. “There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.”"

Bingo!!! The only reason anyone doesn’t like ACA is because of whose name is attached to it. Hell, most people don’t even fully understand what ACA is. I’ve lost count at the number of people who think ACA is an insurance plan.

Therefore everyone was able to keep their health plan. Right?

Since we are counting individually, how many million lies was it?

The issue was people who had plans that didn’t meet the minimum standard had to get a plan that met the min requirement set forth by ACA. People didn’t lose their plan as much as they were upgraded to a different plan. Where Obama failed was in his messaging. He should have explained that if your current plan didn’t meet the min standard then you’d have to upgrade. I get why he went with the bumper sticker slogan instead of explaining it in more detail. It’s because the avg American is an idiot with the attention span of a piece of lint.

In other words, the government told them that they should not like their existing health care, even though they could not afford the health care which was offered.
Really?? You want to go with that?

The democrats rammed it through. There was nothing bipartisan about it. The democrats were able to get a couple of liberal republicans in the senate to vote for it. The noise against the ACA from republicans was deafening. You just didn't hear it from your favored media.

You claimed it was no lie because you could keep your health plan.

Millions were not able to keep their health plan. They were told that they could keep their health plan. Obama lied to each one of them that was not able to keep their health plan. Therefore, Obama lied millions of times.
