I really don't know how this guy can get up in the morning and look at himself in the mirror. He and those of his ilk in the Senate should be ashamed.

What's your problem with Mitch McConnell? He is no more supportive of President Trump than Harry Reid was of President Obama.

Seems a bit hyperbolic, to me.

    What is/are your complaint(s)?

Mitch McConnell is one of the greatest obstructionists that the Senate has seen in decades. He has frustrated House Democrats by systematically and intentionally blocking Senate votes on bills passed in the House. So far, on the lengthening list of bills passed in the house, there have been bills on infrastructure, gun control, protections for people with preexisting conditions. The House has passed literally hundreds of bills, and they all end up in 'McConnell's graveyard' as Nancy Pelosi refers to his obstructionism.

Last June, the House passed a number of bills that are directly related to preserving the integrity and safety of the 2020 election and it wasn't until just 2 days ago, October 24th that Mitch McConnell allowed a vote on those bills on the Senate floor. But guess what? Donald Trump has threatened to veto the bill. Democrats are going to use this in 2020 as a case study that they are going to be very interested in, that shows ... the problem is not with Washington, the problem is not broadly with Congress, the problem is with Mitch McConnell, who will not bring any of these things to the Senate floor.

McConnell said last week on Fox; "I am indeed the 'Grim Reaper' when it comes to the socialist agenda that they have been ginning up over the House with overwhelming Democratic support, and sending it over to America,"

Repugnant isn't even a strong enough word to use for Mitch McConnell.

    Point?

You posted a quote of McConnell having said that. That's his side of the story. I agree with opposing socialism.

What Mitch McConnell has essentially done is tear the Presentment Clause out of the U.S. Constitution. He will only bring legislation to a vote in the Senate if the president has said that he approves and would sign it. Yes, that's repugnant.

The Constitution provides that if a piece of legislation is passed by the House and the Senate it is presented to the president who can sign it or veto it. If he vetoes it, a 2/3 vote in each house of Congress can override the veto. Mitch McConnell has failed to do as he is supposed to do as Speaker. Yes, that's repugnant.

This is not at all what the Constitution sets forth as the legislative process. The president and the Congress are supposed to be co-equal branches of government, but McConnell has given the president pre-approval power over anything the Congress might do. The president now controls the legislative agenda of the Senate because McConnell has given him that power, making the Senate subservient to the president, not co-equal. Yes, that's repugnant.

McConnell is not doing his duty. Nowhere in the list of duties as Senate Majority Leader does it say "unless the president approves" or "block everything from the House from going to the floor". When asked why he wasn’t bringing the House measures to the Senate floor, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell responded, with a grin: "Because I get to decide what we vote on.” And yes, that's repugnant.

Do you think that the Senate would have enough votes to override a veto?

They wouldn't. It would be a waste of time.
