I still place a lot of Faith in the Constitution and the institutions of the USA. Despite the efforts of many people like Trump and some of his supporters throughout our history we have still managed to see our way through well over 200 years and several major wars, (during one of which we actually saved the world from possibly the most evil ideology it had yet known) and we came out of it the preeminent power on the planet. Our basic philosophy remains the global standard since before the beginning of the present century, it will continue to prosper, I believe

You do realize that the US "saved the world from possibly the most evil ideology it had yet known" with a segregated armed forces.

Thank you for sharing this video. Andrew Yang sounds like a smart guy. I like his ideas concerning the economy/jobs.
I still don't quite understand where the money will come from for his $1,000 per month to every American citizen.
As for the abandoned malls, maybe they be used as shelter for homeless people.

Apparently he supports a 10% VAT tax to pay for the UBI. I doubt that will be too popular though.

We have that system now. The more we add to it, the more power we take from us and give to the federal gov't, the more we rely on them for anything we need, the less liberty we have, the increased laws there must be, the less we will be able to decide for ourselves. It's bad enough now.

I agree. The VAT tax won't be popular.

Yes. I like government in general, as the one we have allows me to to live a relatively comfortable existence.

So how much could the government take from you before you stop being comfortable?

That depends on what government gives me. It could be up to 75% if i get Healthcare and College, though I'd prefer 60%

Ask my accountant, my income streams are varied and complex, (there's the paper route, lawnmowing, the psychological help stand). does all this inquisition have a point?

I don't even know what that means. I do believe that governments only exist by the will of the people and if they want it to do X, they better do it or they die off.

No it's not. Not even close; socialism is an economic system. Government is the system of laws.

Yet another baleful effect of Trumpism. Words mean things, meanings can change but they are not totally malleable to the point that you can make up new ones to your convenience as you go along.

Socialism must include Government; why do you believe it doesn't?

I see no language in any treaty or anything else where any state says as much.
