    1. Andrew Yang (born on January 13, 1975) is an American entrepreneur, philanthropist, the founder of Venture for America (VFA), and a US 2020 Democratic presidential candidate. He worked in startups and early-stage growth companies as a founder or executive from 2000 to 2009. After he founded VFA, the Obama administration selected him in 2012 as a "Champion of Change" and in 2015 as a "Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship".

    2. Presidential hopeful Andrew Yang said Saturday that the tech innovation driving the American economy is simultaneously putting large numbers of Americans out of work and argued that the U.S. needs to rethink how it measures economic success....

"We need to build a trickle-up economy," said Yang during an appearance on MSNBC's AM Joy, where the 2020 hopeful made the point that President Donald Trump was elected, in no small part, by Americans who had seen their manufacturing jobs taken by machines and computers – a fate that Yang said now faces the country's large retail workforce.

    3. White nationalism or supremacy runs deep in the core of American politics and psyche since Christopher Columbus initiated the permanent European colonization of the Americas. Once in a while, the racial undercurrents would rise to the surface when the supremacists feel that their social dominance and political power are being challenged or threatened by other ethnic groups, particularly after the election of America's first black president.

Trump won the presidency because of racial resentment. That he is a white man who would not be president were it not for this fact. The foundation of Donald Trump’s presidency is the negation of Barack Obama’s legacy. Donald Trump’s white supremacist agenda is not limited to the US. He is taking white supremacy worldwide.

    4. Under the Trump administration, Sinophobia is rising almost to hysteria pitch in the US political arena. FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress in February 2018 that Chinese businessmen, students and scholars present such a threat that it demands a "whole of society" response by the US. He claimed that the whole of Chinese society is a threat to the US — and that Americans must step up to defend themselves.

“One of the things we’re trying to do is view the China threat as not just a whole-of-government threat, but a whole-of-society threat on their end,” Wray said. “And I think it’s going to take a whole-of-society response by us.”

    5. In view of the deep-seated white supremacy, particularly the height of current Sinophobia in the US, it would be a miracle (like the rising of the sun from the west) for any Asian, not to mentioned American Chinese like Andrew Yang, to ever win the US presidency.

I wish to point out to the fact that thousands of Japanese, German, and Italian Enemy Aliens and their US relatives were detained in DOJ camps through the Alien Enemy Control Unit Program in the US during World War II. It won't be surprising for American Chinese to end up in DOJ camps if a war erupts between the US and China.

In my opinion, it will take a very long time, possibly even centuries, for the US to have its first Asian president. It is laughable that America can tolerate the election of a scandal-hit mediocre performer from the majority group rather than any genius or high performer with a PhD from the minority groups.

P.S. Donald Trump's worst nightmare neither "some new figure coming out of nowhere to run against him" nor "an Asian man who likes math" but lack of pops in the stock market.

The problem is whether he can be first or ALLOWED to cross the line to be first. :unclesam:

Allowed? You think the Dem establishment is going to rig the primaries again?

I don't think there is anything standing in Andrew Yang's way to win the primary, except low name recognition/popularity. He's at what, 1%-3% in the polls?

The Dem establishment has nothing to do with it. It is the politics of racial resentment, my friend!

Do you think the majority group in America will elect an Asian as their president? It will take several centuries for this to happen.

He may win the primary and even get into the "Yellow House" (if there is one). However, for obvious reasons, he will never make his way to the White House. :xd:

What are those "reasons"? I don't know what they are so they might not be as obvious as you think.

UBI! Yang thinks it's time to make it a reality. And why not? After all, it wasn't Marx who came up with this idea. It was one of our Founding Fathers, Thomas Paine who first demanded it back in 1795 in his Agrarian Justice. Such a change in our society will work for everyone's good just like Social Security.

If I was a Dem, he would get my vote in the primaries.

Very good post. I agree 100%.

Please recall my earlier post (made a few years back) citing Governor Livingston's view of political parties [1750]:

    https://www.swarthmore.edu/SocSci/bdorsey1/41docs/54-liv.html

Factions amongst great Men, they are like Foxes; when their Heads are divided, they carry Fire in their Tails; and all the Country about them goes to Wreck for it.

My great friend, I hope that by now you have woken up to the reality of anti-Asian-American racism.

So you are going to sleep with the scandal-hit trumpeto? Anyway, I hope your almighty vote alone can send Yang into the White House. :unclesam:

I'm not going to sleep with Trump, either.
However, I can't argue facts. America is doing fine under Trump. But I want to vote for Yang. Can you vote in the U.S.? Who are you supporting?

America is doing fine under Trump? Wake up, Rip Van Winkle! Quick!

I am a Citizen of the Earth. If I can, I shall vote for anyone including you, except that trumpeto. Anyway, I am voting for Yang or any opponent of Trump with my heart.

They were saying that about a certain black presidential candidate in 2008.

I raised the issue that Obama was a wise choice?

    No.
