Better recheck your numbers. The US spends over 3% on DEFENSE...which is what the requirement is...ON DEFENSE.

On total defense spending, but not "on NATO".

The USA pays the most on the NATO budget but not more than the rest combined.

It's typical Germanic audacity that she expects the US to carry on subsidising all the non-paying members of NATO who for years have been cynically dodging their responsibilities. What a ****ing nerve the woman has!

    She doesn't expect it, though.

Her speech is steering the population away from such reliance. Towards an EU army. Lead by Germany.

Trump's manufactured outrage is misdirected. Increased European military spending will not result in less spending by the US.

It will, however, detract from US projected hegemony into the European sphere.

They've been talking about having a European military for a while, so let them have it, and the US and UK will have our own 'NATO'. Who cares! Actually with the imminent collapse of the common currency they won't be able to afford their own army, THEN where will they be?

She Stands for nothing. Thats why she switched to far right when AfD ein elections. I dont Support her but at least she did what was necessary. Also the flag Thing...she Sees herself as empress of europe more than chancellor of Germany. I dont Like that but it is what it is.

Yes, but if she decides to go for a European army she'll end up paying for it - the E26 members won't be able to chip in because they're almost bankrupt.

And so she should - she was the one who invited them all in in the first place.

And when the shooting starts it is the US that shoulders the lions share of the load.

I don't think Germany are able to accept responsibility for their own actions.
There's no pride to be had in German's control of the Euro, German's position in the EU calling for unity against Great Britain or the US.

In Germany, it's easier to blame Trump and pretend the EU is a country that Trump wants to threaten.

    Delusion of course.

But how does the international community stop Germany from acting in the EU?
When can we expect Germany to make the minimum for NATO without resorting to protectionism or sovereignty breaches?

These backwards people seek pride in being anti Islamic and live on a diet of pig and expensive trout.

Is it time the world re thinks its relationship with Germany?

They know not of diversity, or democracy, or what the EU is.

And the N word to a German is Nazi, not ******. :roflol:

They exaggerate his foibles and downplay/ignore his successes.

This is not new. It happens with every Republican. But the degree to which it happens with Trump is worse. The media (95%+ liberal) is butt hurt from 2016 and they're out for blood.

What successes? Nothing but cruelty and stupidity. And a Supreme Court seat stolen from Obama; making these people no better than criminals. Donnie doesn't fit into the adult world. TrumpBike.jpg

He successfully told NATO to pay up didn't he?
He promised to tell them they need to.
    He delivered on that promise.

It's not like he campaigned about it, then went to the meeting and said
    'Hey Guys! We're cool'..
That would have been failure on his part.

A foreign policy disaster. Pres Trump may actually outdo Pres Bush Jr's, Iraq invasion. At least Pres Bush Jr, had a premise.

FYI, for anyone who thinks this is a postive step, ignores the past relationships help build trust at the intelligence levels, and instrumental in assisting to fighting terrorist cells.

The relationship between the US and Germany has nothing to do with the "World's Policeman".

Though Gorsuch hasn't really made any dramatic impact on the SCOTUS, I do delight in the fact that his appointment is still giving the liberals fits.
