    After the many documented incidents of Trump supporters being brutally attacked at rallies by some of the not-so-tolerant and open-minded members of the other side, I'd say Tim's comments are quite astute. This is especially relevant in the industry he happens to be in. Hollywood is overwhelmingly liberal, and the discrimination against non-liberals has been well-documented as well. Ben Shapiro, then a relatively unknown figure, was able to get Marta Kauffman, Nicholas Meyer, Vin Di Bona, and other producers in Hollywood to admit that they actively push liberalism in their work, and they wouldn't have it any other way. It's not surprising that he would liken his experiences to Nazi Germany.

    I suspect, though, that Allen will be forced to apologize to Jewish people if he hopes to work in Hollywood again, given their disproportionately high amount of control in the entertainment industry. Mel Gibson's career never recovered after his comments on Jews, even after he apologized, despite being one of the most talented actors in Hollywood.

    I wasn't aware that asking you to define questionable words you throw around at people was "baiting" you. And how, exactly, does this thread fail? We're exploring the comments of Tim Allen and how a Jewish advocacy group took issue with them.

    He went from an A-list actor to a step above direct-to-video. "Get the Gringo" didn't even get a US theatrical release, despite being one of the best movies he's ever done.

    Because Hollywood is nothing like 1930's Nazi Germany. It's a gross exaggeration and saying otherwise is simply nonsensical.

    Many people were afraid to express themselves openly in Germany in the early 30's, and he describes a similar atmosphere in the industry he works in.

    That of course is a subjective. And he directed Hacksaw Ridge which was nominated for several awards including best director so your idea that Mel Gibson is some suffering soul in Hollywood is laughable and completely off base.

    Perhaps someone should notify the clueless people at the Anne Frank Center that Jews weren't the only victims of Nazi oppression.

    Of course, Tim Allen isn't the first and only artist who has spoken about the "progressive" GroupThink™ and intolerance that has been rampant in Hollywood for quite some time. In that respect, it's reminiscent not only of 1930s Germany but the entire existence of the Soviet Union, where artists were subjected to execution, imprisonment, and other forms of harassment.

    I like Tim Allen and his movies and shows, and I think his comment was made to be tounge-in-cheek.

    That said, maybe people who make comparisons to Nazi Germany shouldn't be surprised when Actual victims of their regime get up in arms about it.
