Another Sherriff that won't be enforcing WA's new I-1639 Gun Control

A few weeks ago I posted in interview with the Klickitat (iirc) Sheriff who in no uncertain terms stated that he would raise a posse and resist attempts by LE to unconstitutionally confiscate firearms from lawful gun owners in his county, specifically citing recently passed I-1639 as unconstitutional.

It looks like he's not the only one.

Sheriff Hatcher has not (afaik) gone so far as to state an intention to resist confiscation attempts by other agencies, but I'm willing to bet that this is the case given his emphasis regarding his Oath to the Constitution in the statement (pictured below).

Klickitat county is somewhat of a 'backwater'- low population, primarily agricultural. Benton County however includes the 'Tri-Cities', which is one of the more populated areas in the state outside the Seattle-metro area.

Its important to remember that some states like WA specify in their State Constitution that the County Sheriff is the Supreme Law Enforcement Authority in their jurisdiction, which gives them the legal authority to over-ride other agencies, and since they are elected directly by the population of their county, they can only be legitimately removed from office by that same population.

What do you think this means for the future of gun control? Do you think this trend will continue? Are urban-centered gun control laws destined to be ignored in rural 'flyover' America? Or are these just a few cowboy 'throwbacks' waiting to get booted by their constituents?

Wait now, many of the GCAs and trolls here assured us that wouldn’t happen. Must be false news.

I wonder who "the other Sheriffs across the state" are, and how many of them there are. WA east of the Cascades is a pretty conservative area, culturally similar to Idaho and Montana, yet historically politically dominated by the progressive Seattle and Olympia urban centers on the coast.
