…A part of the document that supported former Attorney General William Barr's decision not to charge then-President Trump with "obstruction" over the now-debunked Russia collusion claims has been released, and it's leaving anti-Trumpers frustrated.

It's because it reveals that the official legal recommendation in the case was that Trump would not be charged based on the evidence even if he was a private citizen – and not given any presidential immunity.

A report from Ed Morrissey at HotAir explained that Judge Amy Jackson in Washington had ordered parts of the internal Department of Justice memo revealed, giving the government time to appeal to keep it secret.

Meanwhile, a few portions came out, and according to the report, "it looks like a dud – another in a series of involving the Russia-collusion hypothesis…

Oh darn! Another waste of time as the Trump haters come up empty yet again. As usual. No grounds for any kind of charges regarding obstruction of justice. Lol!

It’s always hard to obstruct justice when there was no underlying crime committed in the first place. It was Obama/Biden and Hillary who actually colluded with Russia.

The lefts irrational clinging to obstruction, collusion, etc is astounding.

There was no obstruction and Trump did not collide. There is zero evidence.

Meanwhile dems actually collude with Russia and dems turn a blind eye. Lmao.

And remember, Trump outperformed Obama and is currently outperforming racist joe Biden.

Totally wrong. Glenn Kirshner explains why Merrick Garland is appealing the release of the document, and it's not what everyone thinks.

Oh look. More fake news from Jefferson, this time from Wing Nut Daily.

Your fake news calls Russia collusion "debunked," yet:

    ...

According to a government memo dated Dec. 7, 2018, the first of these lies involved Manafort’s associate Konstantin Kilimnik, whom the Senate Intelligence Committee would later describe as a Russian intelligence operative.

Both the Mueller report and the bipartisan Senate committee found that Manafort and his deputy Rick Gates “periodically” gave Kilimnik the Trump campaign’s internal polling data, even though Gates told the special prosecutor that he suspected that Kilimnik was a Russian “spy.”

According to the Mueller report, Kilimnik had been pursuing a Ukrainian so-called “peace plan” at least four times before and after the 2016 presidential election, and Manafort misled prosecutors about these plans.

    ...

“Over the course of several interviews, Manafort lied about the fact and frequency of his discussions with Kilimnik about a Ukraine peace plan,” Mueller’s deputy Andrew Weissmann wrote in December 2018, in a sentence whose conclusion remains redacted.

“The plan involved the creation of an autonomous eastern Ukraine,” the memo states, an outcome that Mueller eventually revealed to be “a ‘backdoor’ way for Russia to control part of eastern Ukraine.”

    ... https://lawandcrime.com/high-profil...al-lies-paul-manafort-told-to-robert-mueller/
It is absolutely despicable that Trump's campaign chairman was "periodically" passing polling data to a Russian intelligence operative while Russia was actively interfering in the election to harm Hillary Clinton and help Donald Trump. If there is anything more despicable than that, it would have to be Trump rewarding Manafort for betraying his country and lying to investigators about it by giving him a pardon. You just know that Manafort was covering for Trump in exchange for that pardon, which he was certain was coming.

    Collusion is documented and proven.

Collusion isn't documented and proven. The only thing we know is that Manafort acted on his own, for his interests in Ukraine. We also know from the same Mueller that the Russians also aimed to participate in the campaigns of HRC, Jill Stein and Bernie Sanders.

All of this has been litigated, all of this is known. And all of it is ironclad fact. The rest is finally thankfully history.

    Fake News

Another Left-Wing Hoax About Trump Blows Up

"Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered the release of part of the memo that dealt with how Barr reached that decision. Barr relied on advice from several sources, including the Office of Legal Counsel. The OLC recommended against prosecuting Trump, not only because there are constitutional issues with prosecuting a president for obstruction, but also because even if Trump were a private citizen, there wouldn’t be enough evidence to charge him."

Dirty Bob "Mueller left the decision on charging Trump with obstruction to the attorney general. After listening to many opinions, Barr said there wasn’t enough evidence to justify an indictment."

"The parts of the memo released so far call into question Mueller’s decision not to exonerate Trump himself."

PJ Media is fake news. Like Wing Nut Daily, it has no standards and no credibility.

And what you're posting here in no way counters what I posted.

Strange to declare it’s nothing before it’s even been fully released. It’s not gonna be some bombshell, but it’s expected to show that Barr decided and that the OLC memo was just CYA.

He gave innocuous information available on PUBLIC websites to a former business associate and friend. It was PRIVATE not GOVERNMENT information and no different had he handed him a print out of the RCP polling data.

Guilt by association doesn't exist in the United States. Furthermore, no conspiracy was established with this data as the central piece of said conspiracy. It's been quite a few years since One of the Big Lies was perpetuated after the 2016 election, and those who lied to us still have not told us why they decided to lie, several times in Congress and outside of Congress.

    Came up "empty"? Lolwut?

The ONLY Goal was to deny Trump a 2nd Term.

To save America from 4 more years of that Imbecilic Braindead Tinfoil Hat IDIOT.

It looks to me like the only ones who came up "empty" were Trump (and his supporters).

Not in his report and not against Trump. And stop with the "indictment" canard. It was his duty to report CRIMES they found to the DOJ, the indictments and prosecutions would come after he would be removed from the Office, either by impeachment or losing relection or the second term ending, JUST AS IN THE CLINTON impeachment and you know all that already. Did the Mueller office issue any indictments after Trump left office?

Fake News. The source for the facts in the PJ piece are reported by the Washington Post. Folks that pretend secondary sources are primary sources are rightly accorded low credibility and it's an open question what standards they may lack.

The rules changed since Clinton. I’m glad you agree he can now be indicted for obstruction.

They only changed as to whom he would send the determinations of his office, previous it was to the House the change in law changed it to the Attorney General. In both cases the report was to be confidential but Congress pressure got them released. Nothing changed about the role of the Special Prosecutor/Independent Counsel to determine if crimes were committed and if so report them to whom they reported for further action.
