    Aside from the debate that could arise over what group represents fascism, ANTIFA, conservatives, or whichever identity group is argued deserves that label, the US has this thing called freedom of speech, where first Amendment states, in relevant part, that: “Congress shall make no law...abridging freedom of speech.”
    Further, the SCOTUS, has ruled that even hate speech is protected. It a right that does not have comparable protections in the UK. I once observed the government not only not prohibiting the KKK from martching in Skokie Illinois years ago, but provide escort to insure violence didn’t escalate beyond control (something I suspected the KKK leadership was hoping would happen). Of all the rights, this is probably the most vigorously defended.
    While many would like free speech suppressed, usually based on what they find offensive, including that of trolls on this forum, I have always advocated allowing people to say what they want. I prefer knowing what people advocate, choosing for myself the value or lack of it of what is said. I figure those that speak freely can help their respective causes just as they might subvert their interests by what they say.
    I do observe that the 1st A is under attack in this country not much differently than the 2A... funny, given the similar wording of the government’s prohibition from infringing on the right.
    Given your biases, I can understand your condemnation of many on the forum for not speaking to suppress such posts, but then many in the past have suggested you shouldn’t post opinions because you are from the UK...and you would note, I have always defended your or any anti, or even a troll’s right to post an opinion regardless of my positions.

    By the way, my reference to stupidity being fatal was directed toward anyone, their ideology not being a factor, that getting into a scuffle with armed police and reaching for a gun is inviting disaster and not a wise move under any circumstance, not the least of which, is one of heightened division in this country and demonization of the police, something often propagated by ANTIFA itself. No matter who you are, it’s not wise to put your hand between the jaws of a croc.

    That you think hate talk is 'freedom of speech' shows your irrelevance. Cheering the death of your political enemy is disgusting and for you to try and justify it only shows a lack of decency.

    What's interesting it that the Right does not conflate this dead idiot with ALL leftists like the Left routinely does in regards to the Right in general whenever some Right of Center idiot does something stupid or stupidly fatal.

    Bottom line, the man fired shots at the
    Police,
    and oftentimes, the Police shoot back.

    How does this become a Political issue and simply not an active shooter incident ?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "But the police released full body camera footage of the incident, which shows Landeros’ failure to comply. (View here: graphic content warning).
    The far-left is attempting to turn Landeros into a social justice martyr. In reality, he was a deadbeat who brought a weapon to a middle school (a gun-free zone, by the way) and refused to comply with police officers when they ordered him off the property."
    The individual in question failed to comply with a lawful order from law enforcement, and attempted to commit assault with a deadly weapon. Such has absolutely nothing to do with freedom of speech.
    Funny...I was involved in a discussion yesterday with someone who claimed that only people on the Left hates people on the Right and that people on the Right don't at all hate anyone on the Left.
    From the above statement, can it be concluded the left is now claiming ownership of an individual who not only brought a firearm onto school grounds, but attempted to use it against a law enforcement officer?
    Dude was a terrorist or, at least, a wannabe terrorist.
    I'm not cheering his death, but I won't miss him, either.
    The man was obviously dangerous and had a bad road in front of him to get to this point. But I feel very bad for his child who was probably at the school when this happened.
    We value freedom of speech in our country.
    If you don't like that, perhaps don't associate with Americans?
    What I might or might not think about ‘hate talk’ is what is irrelevant. “public expression of ideas may not be prohibited merely because the ideas are themselves offensive to some of their hearers.” Street v. New York, 394 U. S. 576, 592. Pp. 20–23. Having a prohibition against the government restricting speech to allow freedom of expression means sometimes allowing repugnant speech, repugnant being a subjective judgement of the listener. I may not like what someone says, but I defend their right to say it and my right to my assessment of their character and not actively condemning someone from hate speech isn’t a statement of agreement; here you have the right to condem me for that omission, and I to tell you to pi** off. But, considering you are from the UK and exhibit the characteristic of national narcissism, as I noted previously, I didn’t figure you’d either agree or understand. You are from a place that makes hate speech illegal, if arbritrarily, and it is arbitrary, judged so by authorities that capriciously apply that apply the law to the classless and unprivileged lot. Yet, in the UK, it is ok to disparage certain classes of the Irish, even the US president when he visited, and many of the UK lot that post here think it ok to drip such expression of Americans because of their views on gun ownership... something that could be argued that violates UK law regarding posting on-line hate content.
    I don't see you spouting off when someone on the left calls for the murder of anyone to the right of Lenin. Instead, you applaud it. So, spare me your hypocrisy.
