Frydenburg, recently installed treasurer of Australia, claims Malaysian PM is anti-semitic, for suggesting that the policy of moving the Oz embassy to Jerusalem might be a factor in fanning the flames of terrorism. [Australia's nearest neighbour, Indonesia, is the largest majority Moslem nation the world, hence the current controversy in SE Asia over a touted Oz embassy move]. But of course Frydenburg is promoting his own view of the world, based on bronze-age Old Testament scripture ("you are God's chosen people" ; Duet. 7:6, et al) over UN res 181, re the status of Jerusalem in the modern world. Amusingly, Mahathir has deflected the 'antisemite' tag, by noting that, while "Jews have hooked noses" (which Frydenburg claims Mahathir said in the past), they are also "very smart".....and I recall Einstein saying he was a Jew, a German, but above all, a citizen of the world, so perhaps the smartest Jews have moved beyond a particular religious identity.
