Cortez is correct that the system has flaws

The fact that congress has a slush fund to pay off alleged victims of sex abuse is proff of that

But she should have added that offering 51% of the voters free stuff that the other 49% will pay for is equally wrong

That has nothing to do with the point she was making.

I didn't say anything about free speech. Voters and candidates can have all the free speech they want. Removing money from the election system would reduce corruption. We can use the internet and TV to communicate the candidates messages by requiring the media to include this kind of content. I am 75 years old. I'm always calm.

You may to give that some thought. Businesses have competitors. They can't do everything they would like to do because of that. Government has no competition. Like the Texas Republican, I believe the government is more corrupt than business.

If their big enough they can do what you want because they'll work together against America. For example that's how banks and cable companies work now. We have the slowest most expensive internet of the top 10 developed countries in the world. Just about every time a bank gets a fine for criminal activity like stealing peoples homes the fine is a fraction of the profits, in fact in most situations it appears the fine was part of the plan.

What you are saying is that there is corruption. Since government has the power, it can end all of those practices. You are blaming the wrong people.

No what I've been saying is that the corporations have the power and our politicians are just employees of corporations.

Sure you did, took it away from citizens without so much as a thought. Free speech includes getting your message out to people through the media, aka ads.

Fantasy since the donations she talks about are 2% of donations to politicians. What is left out of the video is one of the panel pointing that out.

Government is the result of compromises and lobby influence. Business is the result of a group of people trying to meet a public need.

So, you think it's smart to self-righteous finger-wag in folks' faces as though they're stupid and need you to connect the dots for them?

Then Ocasio-Cortez should have been asking questions about how the government is intending to stop people from buying influence.

As long as she engages in highly selective outrage that excludes the massive leftwing socialist scam its a point you wont be allowed to ignore

Yeah, and I was accused of siding with the school board because I wouldn't go along with lecturing the public about the evils of the board members. Been there, done that.

Government is corrupt, at least in part, because of business.

She hasn’t been there long enough to be a target of corporate bribery. Once her palms get greased she will change her tone.

    Check out Nancy’s net worth.

In this situation you may as well be saying that a car thief is just a guy doing his job.

You equate corporate and political corruption to they are just meanies? With that thinking we should all just quit the forum and play video games all day.

We have corporations writing bills. That's a fact. These bills get presented because politicians are paid by these corporations. Another fact. Acting as if corporate power in our law-making process doesn't exist is willful ignorance.

Oh she will address that issue, but that wasn't the time. She was questioning a panel not presenting a bill. She is only 1 month into her job.

Can you stop de-railing the thread? Your school board has nothing to do with this.
