AOC Unleashes on Jesus Super Bowl Ad, Says It’s Worse Than Fascism

…two Super Bowl commercials portraying Jesus as compassionate towards people regardless of their political stance.

Nevertheless, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did not approve of the Jesus ad aired during Super Bowl 57, saying “Something tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign.”

AOC endorsed a tweet alleging that the ad’s sponsor supports the right’s agenda to outlaw abortion and permit businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ+ individuals.

According to AOC, the advertisement was fascist since it presented numerous black and white photographs of people engaged in disagreements over topics such as lockdowns and politics.

The advertisement concluded with the phrase “Jesus loved the people we hate.”…

This is no surprise at all. Hating Jesus and Christianity is the motivating factor of the secular progressive elites. Seeing people who disagree on both sides showing respect and understanding of the other is against all that woke cancel culture believes in.

 

That AOC said what she’s reported here as saying and supporting comes as no surprise to those of us who are Christians.

Denouncing Christians as fascists elevates and promotes fascism. AOC's comments are not antifascist.
IMO, she should think longer before talking to reporters.

I thought the "Jesus loved the people we hate" ad was good. It's just that you can't ignore the anti-LGBQT stance of the groups who are fundraising behind the scenes for these ads. That's probably what AOC referred to with the fascism comment, but she should have made it more clear.

Now, if only the evangelical right would take a hint from this ad and actually stop hating people that are the "others" and start loving them. Oh, if that would happen, the GOP would lose its whole platform.

There's a valid point in criticizing spending craptons of money on a superbowl ad in the name of the most austere humanitarian in history... but fascism? So basically, that's just a word for anything we don't like now I guess...

Methinks AOC may have taken Jesus' advice to 'become like children' a bit too literally.

 

I don't think many take AOC's opinion serious. She just trying to stay relevant. She does look great in a dress however.

 

Yep, Jesus cared especially for the poor, sick and downtrodden. In contrast, the modern day prosperity gospel (infused with some hype up of capitalism) preaches that the sick, poor, and "others" are moochers (sinners), who are punished by God for their bad choices in life. For example, if you die from covid, you deserve it, because you weren't smart enough to stay fit, young and healthy. Jesus would turn in his grave knowing that his name is so abused.

But, having those ads point out that Christians hate gay people and immigrants is hardly a message consistent with Christianity.

Yet, that hate is what the sponsors of those ads are on record as supporting.

 

Clearly, she is not just relevant, but spot on.

The ads identified who to hate. And, they are consistent with the views of those sponsoring the ad.

I hope it's not Christianity.

I hope it really is just a far right political movement trying to co-opt religion for their purpose.

Jesus never said anything about people making a career out of government welfare. He said to work for a living.
