    LOL! Right on!

Gawd, what the hell is this country coming to? it's getting scarier.

Some bozo can claim he's really 'female' and he's allowed access to the girls toilets and showers....

This crap of having to be 'politically correct' is strangling this once-great country.........

Gender Identity has nothing to do with sexual preference. You have no proof of what you are saying so thanks for proving my point

This isn't even being politically correct this is being flat out stupid. The only way I would ever support such a thing like this would be if the transgender person got the surgery and the medical practices required to make them a female. Once the the actual transformation is complete then you can start using the female showers with the women.

No logical person can honestly say that a guy should be able to throw on a wig and walk into the female locker room and claim he's a woman.

The people who support these radical ideas almost always fail the see the future repercussions of such ideology. If we allow men to simply say they are transgender and hang out in the girls locker room then what is to stop me from saying I think Im a female tomorrow so now Im going to hang out in the womens locker room at the local gym.

Im sure there are teenage boys all over the country who would be absolutely thrilled if such a stupid practice was put into place. I was a teenage boy once and I tell you right now that if all I had to do to get into the female volleyball teams locker room was to say I thought I was a girl then I would be the first person in line at the principals office with my new Hello Kitty wallet. Me and about 50 million other teenage boys and a hell of a lot of other perverts of all ages.

Im sure the parents of these girls would have absolutely no issues at all with a bunch of teenage boys sitting in the corner with pitched tents watching their daughters get naked at school.

If that kid can say he's a girl and use the girls facilities then I can say Im a woman and use the womans facilities. You CANNOT support him and not support me. Doing so would be hypocritical and there is absolutely no way around it, period.

Hence why I recongize my opinion is an extreme one that will take time for people to ultimately go for, if it ever does happen.

We're not talking about sexual orientation...

This is part of the being 'politically correct' bull(*)(*)(*)(*) and it's not going to go away - it'll get worse......

I wonder 'how can it?', but something will come up and people's rights will be trampled on in order to make one person or one small group happy.....

I agree. Once the surgery is over and done w/ - then he/she have legit claims to being the gender they chose..... until then, they need to be told to use the bathroom that matches the person's private parts.

But it ain't gonna happen, thanks to the progressive liberals....

You know what part of this story was conveniently excluded? The wishes and feelings of the parents. Did anyone dare ask the parents of these teenage children if they had an issue with a teenage boy who believes himself to be a girl seeing their daughters get naked and showering in the locker room?

Of course not because screw the parents they don't get to have a voice in what their kids are subjected to in school. If they don't like it then they should just take their kids out of school and switch schools right? That's what progressives will say. But what progressives will not say is "how about I take MYSELF out of school and switch schools if I don't like the policy?" No, can't do that. Everyone has to conform to what I want, not the other way around. And if any parent has a problem with that then they are bigots and need to suck it up.

How about we ask the girls in the locker room if they mind a guy is in there with them? They are the ones who are directly effected by this. But no we can't ask them about how they feel, screw them, they WILL be ok with it or they can get the hell out.

Look at the other thread talking about some school wanting to teach elementary school kids about masturbation. How about we ask the parents if they mind? Why do all of these stories conveniently dismiss the most critical part of the equation which is the wishes of the parents of these CHILDREN in school?

I'm still waiting for one single progressive to come in here and explain how they are going to support my decision and my right to walk into the womans locker room tomorrow at the gym because as of noon today I now identify myself as a woman.

I support you decision, one thing do you have a letter from a licensed Psychologist stating you have gender identity disorder?

Nope, is that required? From the article I didn't see anything mentioned about that. The article states

In a 5-to-1 vote, an appeal board upheld Atherton High School's nondiscrimination policy Thursday, which states the school must accept the gender identity each student asserts and shouldn't discriminate on the use of school space on the basis of gender identity nor gender expression.

    as·sert. verb
behave or speak in a confident and forceful manner.

So as long as I behave and speak with confidence that I am now a woman you will support my decision to use the womens shower tomorrow at the gym?

Well that's not required in any of those bills that I'm aware of.

And even if it is... are they going to be required to carry around that piece of paper when they want to use a public women's bathroom somewhere?

Good point about the restrooms, but that does not address the issues of locker rooms. Unless things have changed since I went to school, a student is required to change over for PE in full view of their classmates. Further, there are no dividers in the shower room. So, how has that issue been addressed?

It's beginning to seem like that nowadays isn't it?

At least once I week or so I come on this forum and see a thread about another public school doing something stupid.

Public school bans American flag in favor of foreign holiday
    Public school allows Devil worship
Public school considers teaching masturbation to elementary school kids
Public school decides boys can say they are girls are hang out in the girls locker room

These places have gone off the deep end.

Don't look at their private parts? It doesn't mean that they're going to be completely naked.

Why would a boy be going into the girl's locker room? Shouldn't a 16 year old girl be going into the girl's locker room?

There is already an entire school day for that, plus home work, plus reading. Making children get naked in a room together seems bizarre.

As I said, there are chores, school, home work, doctors appointments, and various other teachable moments that don't involve the bizarre aspect of forcing children to get naked I front of one another.

I call bull (*)(*)(*)(*) in that.

My school did have athletics programs. Students weren't required to take a shower at the school.

    Why would they be?

    - - - Updated - - -

I don't see a difference that is relevant.

The last time I saw your age, you were around 17-18. That must be why you're so flippant about this situation, refusing to realize that girls do have a right to their privacy in the GIRL'S restroom and not have to share their space w/some dude w/a penis.....

You would think so but according to the OP article a 16 year old boy can now say he's a girl and go in whatever locker room he damn well pleases.

So you shower with your undergarments on? Why not admit that the issue was glossed over by the appeals court? The whole Liberal ideology of "tyranny of the majority" thing. An ideology that leads to a society controlled by special interests.

I remember myself at that age... Boy, I'd pretend I was a girl in a heartbeat, sharing stories with my buddies afterwards... Back then, my parents would beat a crap out of me if they get a whiff of such nonsense. And I do not hold it against them.

Not whenever he damn well pleases, she's going to be going through a lot. It's not something that can be thrown around easily.

Who showers in school, even with gym class?

I hear you brother. Man what I would give if progressives ran the country back when I was in high school. Me and my buddies would routinely risk expulsion by trying to sneak a peak in the cheerleaders locker room after football practice. I couldn't imagine a policy that said all I had to do was say I was a girl and I could actually go in there. The girls locker room would have been flooded with a multitude of brand new really ugly manly looking girls if my school had a policy like the OP school does.

I'm sorry. I thought I was talking to someone that actually went to school in the US. On two occasions, I had to attend a conference with my sons' PE teachers. Both my sons had to take a required year of PE in high school. Both had come up with the idea that if they put on extra deodorant, they could avoid taking a shower after class. Of course the teachers had noticed, and brought it to my attention. Those conferences took place six years apart. The last one was in 2004. So, unless things have changed in the last 10 years, then the answer to your question is: everyone that attends a PE class. Maybe in New York they allow kids to go class stinking of sweat, but the rest of the US requires the kids to shower after PE.

Went to a public school and graduated. Want to try again?

    .

Must have changed, seeing as how I never showered expect for the pool. Which in that case I sorta showered in swim trunks.
