Try making a point instead of spewing "Wall Street isn't the economy. Main Street is" cliches. There must be an original thought in that noggin.

Unfortunately, because of past administrations, Trump came into office with deals that were win-lose, and we were losing.

So lose-lose is necessary before win-win. Until our trade partners feel it too, why would they bother to give us more favorable deals? They wouldn't. Thatd be a stupid business decision.

Would it help you if he renamed the graph "your 401K?"

It's just grabbing whatever data can possibly be construed in whatever negative way possible.

    Its Postmodernism at it's finest.

Complain complain and complain while you invent whatever possible problem you can find to fire up the people. It's honestly getting so old....

In Trump's news conference just now he said that Apple would be ok as their stock has gone up "hundreds" of percent since he's been President. It's not. At the beginning of his Presidency it was $113. Today it's $147 which is a gain of about 30%.

When it did go up hundreds of percent was during Obama's Presidency when it increased by more than 800%.

Math is not Trump's strong suit. He's an expert in drones apparently though.

I suppose for the superficial, this explanation works for you, and them... It, however, doesn't actually explain the real dynamic in China, which is that dictated economic growth isn't achieving to plan anymore for them. The dirty little secret here is that the Chinese leadership miscalculated the effect of affluence on their monopoly of power. And clearly, they are unwilling to share their power with those HUNDREDS of MILLIONs of Chinese citizens who are now enjoying their new found affluence. Demand is diminishing and has been for a decade. The artificial hand of government is stifling further demand, and with it, the growth that has fueled the success of Apple in CN. Apple's technology has been copied, duplicated, and commoditized by local companies who have found broader acceptance than the vastly more expensive Apple products available in CN. So, Apple's profitability there is taking a hit from both the artificial brakes of the government economy and competition.

I remember all those times that Obama waxed poetic about how there really wasn't a danger to US companies, or their intellectual property from China... You know he's laughing at how easy it was to sell that lie to his faithful, and how rapidly, CN tech has been able to catch up to US tech because he was unwilling to stop or staunch the flow. And now, Apple is paying the price.

Very likely. Vietnam does have lower wages and benefit costs than China.

Posting here or there every once in awhile, and then taking sabbaticals, is not a waste of life. Joining this website and being on it so much that you have almost as many posts as people who have been here 11x longer than you is simply embarrassing.

Thats crazy. Three quarters of the products we use in this country are produced, or sourced from China.

This idea that they are "hurting our economy" is just crazy

He IS the problem. We source and manufacture there because of the low cost of labor. There are many Trump brands that are manufactured there and many other places outside of the United States. THAT is why they have the power.

Federal law should not bend to help out Apple. If it does that is just corporate oligarchy not democracy not representative government it's not a country of the people.

Apple can eat ****. Or figure out how to make more profits by being innovative instead of just creating updates that make their shity products worthless after 4 years so that you buy more. Right now they're part of an oligopoly. And taking a leg off of that giant beast is a good thing.

Exporting so many jobs is a false economy that impoverishes most of our citizens and weakens the country.

Apple hasn't been interested in innovation in about 15 years. All they want to do is slightly alter the same garbage and make updates to render your thousand dollar phone useless so you give them another thousand dollars in a couple of years.

My thoughts on it is **** em.
