Are C.E.O's over paid? If so... why?

?

Why would you suspect that C.E.O's are paid so much?

  1. Probably to lie and perform other unethical acts

Eleven point seven million per year for middle of the pack C.E.O's seems to me to be a bit high.............. and my guess is that one of the important reasons for this is so that C.E.O's are expected to perform some acts that are not entirely ethical............... so...... they are paid extremely well so that they are more willing to take the risks involved.

For CEOs, $11.7 million a year in compensation, on average, is just middle of the pack

An example that jumps to mind is that Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski was terribly persecuted by various bureaucracies because he had the only proven cure for various types of brain cancer so...........
...... because there is so much money involved if the existing cancer treatment infrastructure was proven to be obsolete...........

........ well.... you get the picture don't you?

Now this is just my suspicion.... and I am just a janitor who reads a lot.

Tell you what. You try to run an international corporation for a single week and I will guarantee that you won't have a problem with what they make when you see what they have to put up with. Plus, the CEO is usually the person who started the company and built it from the ground up in a crappy little single room office, like Jeff Bezos did with Amazon. They deserve every penny they get. If it wasn't for them, no one that works for them would have a job in the first place....

Take any entry level office worker or factory worker for any company and put them in the CEO office and the place would be on fire in less than a week. That's why CEO's make the big bucks....

Your quote says this data is for “the biggest companies, although I see not definition for that. Given that probably means they oversea tens of thousands of employees and do hundred of millions to billions in business, I don’t see 11 mil in “total compensation” too outrageous.

That is a very good point....
I do consider that those cases where somebody has built a company up from a small beginning is one of those cases where extremely high compensation is completely logical.

On the other side of the question is a case like that of a big Tech company that may be able to put pressure on management to comply with less than entirely ethical activities.... due to the economic pressure on management.

I made an error by putting this in the "Creative Corner" but this will give some artistically inclined people something to think about because almost any concept for a series of films could be focused around somebody with the title of C.E.O. who is perhaps so into the mission statement of their company that their different approach to how much they are compensated would have what could be termed "Artistic Value."

And you inquired about a definition for "biggest companies". The data is for all publicly traded companies regardless of size, whether that is Walmart or Royal Gold, Inc. with its 16 total employees.

All publicly traded corporations are required to make the same filing under Dodd-Frank. Perhaps if you had actually read the reports you would have seen the answer to your question: "The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) now requires publicly owned firms to provide a metric for the ratio of CEO compensation to that of the median worker in a firm, as mandated by the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill of 2010 (SEC 2015)."

    Have a nice life.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand.
You’re still off in the weeds. The $11 million dollar compensation cited is for CEO of “America’s LARGEST companies” My question is what criterion is used to identify the LARGEST COMPANIES. Am I making this too difficult?

My understanding is that he is not subject to the salary cap because his is considered a consulting position. I have no use for the man personally. He has zero credibility with me given his consistently inconsistent comments and outright lies.

I am in essentially the same boat as you.....
I do not like the way that Dr. Tony Fauci approaches his job at all......
I could even argue that the manner in which the influential Dr. Robert Strang here in Nova Scotia, and Dr. Tam in Ontario, Canada seem to follows all or at least most of the major pronouncements
by Dr. Tony Fauci in a manner that could be argued as being......
    1. obsequious .... (to understand that word think of the character Igor in the Frankstein movies or Renfeld in the Dracula movies).....

    2. less than entirely honest and objective which.....
could be argued goes against the spirit and the intent of the Hippocratic Oath?!?!

    3. I think that almost anybody could empathize with my belief that Robert Malone M. D. is taking action that risks his career... far beyond Dr. Robert Strang, Dr. Tam or Dr. Tony Fauci ...... BUT....

I DID THINK OF A REASON AS TO WHY WHAT DR. TONY FAUCI'S ACTIONS AND WORDS, at least in his own mind, could perhaps be ethical and reasonable if he has been convinced that by diverting serious amounts of money to BigPharma then perhaps his methods could save Wall Street from collapsing........

I am proposing the creation of a "Kate Spade Dollar" similar to Calgary Dollars and / or a "Kate Spade Hour" similar to The Ithaca Hour and I believe that "Collectors Edition Effect" can be set in motion if these Kate Spade alternative currency notes are invested in such a way that proves that each human life has something like INFINITE value to our Creator....... who I believe has "EVOLVED in Energy from Quantum Vacuum."

The Richard Dawkins Ph. Biden Digital Currency, does this scare you?

But the idea of an Artistic Kate Spade in the Afterlife requires the expert guidance of near death experiencer Mr. Christian Andreason...... so he, in my opinion, would be the best C. E. O. to handle this proposed project.....

Many people are absurdly overpaid, in sports, entertainment and business. It distorts the social image of honest effort for reasonable compensation. It overemphasizes materialism. It endows the wrong individuals with excessive economic, social and political importance.

So true..... but believe it or not......
I get the impression that things have improved somewhat over these past five centuries.

Since I moved to Mississauga I am now confronting the fact that my mom spelled my last name as TAIT on my birth certificate..........

... this impressed me as strange so I did some research on the why and my guess is that the TATE spelling for my last name is associated with slavery.........
and such excessive and extreme wealth that can lead to a museum in London being named after you.

I believe that all of us from the wealthiest to the most humble in terms of economic and political power need to be confronted with the case that can be made that we are living in a MULTIVERSE.

I believe that Tapestry / Coach / Kate Spade choosing Christian Andreason to represent them in something that could be colossal....... and win, win, win , win, win, win, win..... win for all of us ...... is hinted at in his meeting with Dr. Albert Einstein during his brush with death.

I personally believe that throwing a salary plus benefits package of eleven point seven million or so per year at Christian will be worth it.......
because of what doing this will lead to.

I posted a message to more than a hundred Mewe groups this morning that I believe near death experiencer Mr. Christian Andreason would tend to support if and when he happens to read this discussion..........

Christian Andreason has been extremely active in assisting homeless people in the Hollywood, California area........

and I am pretty sure that he would basically support this general idea....... to at least some degree????

The following message is being posted to many Mewe groups.......
so I do believe that this discussion will probably be getting more attention soon.......

About a year ago I got twenty five thousand hits in one day on one discussion after giving the link to it on many Mewe groups......

I do believe that near death experiencer Mr. Christian Andreason should soon receive some serious attention because he cannot be replaced....... he is the near death experience who has certainly set the stage for a possible Netflix series based on The Kate Spade....... in the afterlife ...... praying and interceding for all of us humans and for setting up something specific.......... right here on political forum .com ......

Dr. Kevin Zadai, Prayer Secrets Level 1, Warrior Notes School of Ministry, lesson 4 :

"Your theology and a Basic Minimum Income?"

I have believed for many years now that if somebody's religious beliefs is PRO-LIFE then they should also tend to support a Basic Minimum Income for all citizens as was advocated by Economist Milton Friedman.

An UNCONDITIONAL BASIC MINIMUM INCOME would give added life to organizations that are attempting to help the homeless.... drug addicts....... alcoholics...... the sex industry... gambling.... and would become a source of revenue that courts could divert over from fathers to a mom who has custody of the children and is actually caring for the children!

I am Pro - Life and I definitely think that an unconditional Basic Minimum Income to all citizens will positively alter the economy of The United States and Canada and soon other nations will follow suit because our history shows how this idea goes back many decades.

    ..... (Lucifer) ....

    ...... BRILLIANTLY STATED Lucifer!!!!!!!!!!

I had been a Christian from around 1972 or 1973 until 1990 and then I came to the conclusion that none of the most impressive Christian leaders that I personally knew of, (for example Evangelist Garner Ted Armstrong and his buddy Evangelist Ron Dart), were ready to meet the following person....
    ..
    Ezekiel 28:3
"Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:"

So..... I prayed and I asked for wisdom and understanding so that I could meet that guy.....
who I was expecting to come on the scene shortly........

....and then some pretty strange things happened...... but anyway...... I honestly believe that the national debts of the United States and / or Canada and / or Israel and / or Australia are significantly PRACTICAL JOKES being played on three hundred and thirty million Americans who do NOT know their right hand from their left when it comes to economics........ and on thirty seven point six million Canadians who do not know much of anything about economics either, (but we Canadians do have one advantage..... our horrible climate does tend to force us to read more....... because we don't want to go outside and play....... and female Canadians are wearing more clothes for ten months of the year..... so we Canadian guys tend to be somewhat less distracted )....... but anyway I digress.......and I was not exactly joking around when I began the following discussion.......
I did earn my Associate Degree of Theology from near death experiencer Dr. Kevin Zadai over these past three years and I would like to submit my Thesis on HOW TO PAY OFF THE NATIONAL DEBT OF THE UNITED STATES AND OR CANADA AND, OR ISRAEL AND , OR AUSTRALIA........ and I would like to submit a one year time frame for the foundation to be laid for all of this....... (under our present set of circumstances the alternative is kind of scary........ The Biden Digital Currency)!
