    You don’t have to read long part with all the details (in blue) below, because I will have mercy and give a short version here; question; Are most outlaw Motorcycle clubs like the Hells Angles or Outlaws as they are portrayed in the media ?

    Long version;

    I was having a discussion with Akula concerning outlaw motorcycle clubs aka erroneously called gangs, about the penalties for using club symbols etc, and how the clubs have changed from being honorable* to some clubs of today that shoot first ask questions later. Street gangs are worse IMO but I have not been a member of the crips bloods or the AB, but I have wore a outlaw MC patch, being a member for six years. Of course that was before I was born again as they say. I told Akula I retired from the club** in good standing when the real shooting began and brothers began betrayed brothers. In other words when drugs become involved, at least in the club I was in. Too many RIP patches and funerals not enough riding and other fun! Besides Chicago IL (mother chapter) was a long way from East TN and we had to make every national (mandatory quarterly runs). So the question is Are the outlaw Motorcycle clubs like the Hells Angles or Outlaws as they are portrayed in the media ? I realize this thread may flop due to lack of interest but I gotta’ know..lol

    Notes

    * honorable means respecting other clubs rules. Not shooting someone for a dirty look. No illegal activity wearing a club patch (that is a real bylaw). No women children etc put in danger or included in retaliations. Etc

    ** Despite the myth of blood in blood out in most outlaw clubs you can leave at any time unless you owe the club something. Family and job are the most common reasons for members retiring or leaving. One can retain his patch if he has been in 5 years and become a NOMAD, with all the privileges of a full patch member active member.
