I’m told that Colorado pot is now of higher quality than Amsterdam pot. So another advantage of legalization.

    The current expenses are:

    Seeds
    Water
Lights (can't grow outside in prohibition)
    Electricity
Risk of imprisonment and resulting cost
    Nutrients

    That'd be trimmed to:

    Seeds
    Water
    Nutrients

    Got to be cheap.

Conversation heard between a pot smoker and a whisky drinker.
    "Dude, chill out man."
"You want to take this outside?"

Can you guess which person said what?

    LOL

I know a guy who smoked six packs of cigarettes a day and lived to be 95.

    Most people don't.

Flattered that you're thinking about my anus. :blowkiss:

"The French" really don't care much about marijuana, realistically understanding it is a non-issue except for illegal dealers. The government is adamant against it, most likely pushed by big pharma and alcohol interests.

If you're not clear on what I was saying, maybe reread my post? :)

Also, pot should not be used by anyone under 30 in addition to the other common sense precautions I mentioned.

Pot: Destroyer of minds and lives

    INCREDIBLY dangerous, deadly and addictive.

But as noted, its sociopathic pimps are happy to see lives destroyed for the convenience of their addiction.

    Nazism is not dead... :(

The violent pot smoker makes violent threats IRL.

In the fantasies of pot pimps, not so much.

With all the things society permits (Congressional irresponsibility, obesity, overpowered motor vehicles, for-profit prisons, prohibitive health care costs, prescription opiates, universal availability of alcoholic beverages, etc., etc.), smoking marijuana is absurdly ridiculous to be so repressed and penalized.

A little historical note. Where I am the dominant tribe actually has evolved a religion around smoking pot. A historian traced to roots to early fishermen who started putting pot leaves on the lunches as a spice and discovered that their afternoons were a lot more pleasant. Pretty soon everyone was spicing their lunches as well. The king at the time decided this was not a good idea for children to eat pot, they should be more active not less, so he banned it's use in cooking and created a marijuana priestess who would make the rules of when and where it was appropriate to smoke weed.

When the Belgian missionaries arrived they were appalled to find people openly using drugs and wanted them to stop. The king responded. "When you start your day you drink coffee, a drug. All day you smoke tobacco, also a drug. In the afternoons, tea, yep, a drug. By the evenings, if not earlier, you start in on your alcohol, a strong drug. We do none of that. We smoke marijuana during ceremonies where we convene with our ancestors and our elderly smoke it when they hurt. We think you have no cause to lecture us."

Piece of alcohol trivia. Tonic water is made with quinine and was originally used as a cure/preventative for malaria. Back in the day it was much stronger that what you drink today. The Brits hated the taste and created the highly flavored gin to mix with it to mask the taste of the quinine. Even medicines are used as an excuse to drink by Europeans.

People are going to use recreational drugs. Actually critters were doing that before there were any humans, it's part of having a nervous system sophisticated enough to figure out how to do it. Ever watch children spin themselves until the fall down?

Pot is the least damaging recreational drug. It also has medical utility. It saves lives.

It's not dangerous using any sane standard. There is no lethal dose. And it's not chemically addictive the way most recreational drugs are.

In the early 70s, when Nixon started the Drug War, medical opinion was that it should not have criminal penalties. Nixon said he would follow the advice of the medical authorities, but he wanted his revenge on the hippies, and placed it in the highest category. It was also in the 70s when Docs figured out pot helped cancer patients live longer, and suffer less.

Btw, I stopped using in the 70s, it was over 30 years later, when I got cancer, that I started using it again...

    It helped.

Those guys are everywhere. Here in Amsterdam it feels like they are the majority. They are such beautiful women and with men who treat them like trash. If you want a girlfriend, there are plenty of these girls ready to bolt :)

American men tend to treat women well. Didn't realize you were in Amsterdam. Always wanted to visit that part of Europe.

It got kind of ruined after the borders were removed after EU integration. Amsterdam doesn’t seem Dutch at all now. I’m hoping for a Netherlands form of Brexit but the Netherlands was a founding member of the EU but no longer benefits from it.

I like pot. I currently just drink alcohol, and hope at some point we can nationally legalize the recreational use of marijuana. I think the French are off base here. I have been around addicts of marijuana and alcohol. I would not wish physical alcohol addiction on anyone, but never met anyone who could not get over pot on their own.

The point I am making is that alcohol is safer to consume thanks to its quality-control legality.

There is no doubt that drinking is loads safer than during American prohibition. We are definitely agreed.
