I was happy that he beat Hillary. I'm still glad Hillary isn't president.

There wasn't much to choose from, I will admit that. I'm sorry, but I think she was pulling ahead; according to poles. When Comey announced she was being investigated again, it was cinched. Donald was winning. It begs the question, if you ask me, why was her investigation announced, and the one about his aids and helpers whatever, not announced. At least it would have made the playing field even at the end.

 

I don't know about the outcome. Trump had a better ground game and a better message, in the end. I look at the Hillary investigation more as icing on the sh*t cake.

 

Actually, it is something how Trump had gone with the "Crooked Hillary" mode of attack, and then there was the DNC stuff AND the announced investigation to go with it. It all fit together nicely for Trump. So, maybe it did have a pretty big impact in the end. I keep wondering whether there was coordination of any kind between Trump with that mode of attack and the Russians with their hacking and dumping of info. It was all just so convienient.

The man has a presence...I don't think I like him...Hilary had not presence....if there had been a good alternative, I don't think he would have done it. Won, I mean.

 

Well, the clever Russians might have simply seen an opportunity and acted, such that it would have appeared much like collusion. This is bound to be why the FBI is investigating - they've got enough evidence in the way of Trump team contacts with the Russians that they have to make sure it wasn't more than just the Russians managing a very successful exploit that was very good for Trump to shake up our election. The difference here is, of course, crucial for Trump and co. He won't get into trouble if there's no evidence of collusion..

It would have been interesting, to be sure. There probably would not have been that terribly negative campaign. It would have been Trump's populist message versus Bernie's. Extreme capitalism vs socialism..

I have to wonder how Bernie would have handled Trump's claims and how Trump would have tried attacking Bernie.

And yep, agree about Bernie and Hillary's levels of sincerity.. Bernie would have been at that post-8-years-of-Democratic-rule disadvantage, though. The election was already biased toward the Republicans in that regard. Still, Bernie didn't have the stigma of corruption and dishonesty and Trump was an offensive clown. I'll bet the race still would have been close..

Not necessarily. I had an African-American kid last year who was a straight-A student, and bigoted to the bone. Hated Hispanics with a purple passion. Never heard him hate on whitey since we don't have any where I am but he likely felt the same way.

 

Of course, there's still nothing intelligent about racist beliefs and attitudes, which I think is the real point here.
