Does unrest lead to civil war? Unrest and protest is what lead to the creation of the United States of America. Over taxation, over Government, abuse of power can lead to another revolution. Your thoughts please?

    Sometimes it does.

But I think if there was going to be a real civil war it would have happened by now and the Marxist liberals would be kicked out.

This is ridiculous. Who exactly is going to take up arms against the Government?

Things can be reversed at the ballot box, it has in the past, even if the trend does portend to socialism. The problems today are the changing demographics, along with a lack of pride in country, which has been the foundation of this Country. Said another way, in the past people came here to achieve opportunity, if not for themselves, for their kids, but today many come to take....I leave the rest up to your imagination.

I doubt it. The vast majority of the whiners are far too fat and lazy to start a revolution.

If you decide to have a revolution, please leave me out of it. I have a comfortable life that I've worked very hard for. And anyway, I'm too old to fight.

Civil War over what? Although I do see the US becoming less united over the coming decades, I don't see anything like a civil war approaching; merely increasingly dysfunctional politics. Frankly I'll take the dysfunctional politics over a war any day.

Than I guess those that took up arms in the American revolution were not in their right minds? Doing nothing against tyranny? Doing something against tyranny equals not in your right mind? Over imprisonment, over government, over taxation, continued control of our private lives and ignoring our Constitutional rights? Votes that don't matter in the overall outcome of elections? All of things alright with you?

Must give credit to those in foreign Countries standing up for their god given rights.

War is much closer than anyone realizes.

As long as we are able to vote the cancer out at the ballot box then we should continue to do so and go that route. Unfortunately I don't think it will be long before that's no longer a real option.

I would be very surprised at an actual shooting war. I don't see tanks rolling across Kansas fields shooting at farmers in our near future. What might be possible at some point is a peaceful separation into two or maybe three countries.

oh, it's coming down to a huge fight, all right. It's just a question of how big, how soon, where, over what, and the result.

Not a full blown revolution. But insurrection? Yup. And that's a good thing.

    The tree of liberty folks.

The politicians continue to pass more and more laws every year. Many of the overly complicated laws can be vague or ambiguous. There are many open-ended laws that can be used against people even if they did not break any law. Seems like anyone could be thrown in jail if a prosecutor wanted.

I'd be happy with just a divorce, personally. No need to fight. Just divvy up the states and part ways. This relationship has clearly run its course, and the left is (*)(*)(*)(*)ing nuts just like the ex-wife you're glad to get rid of. If she takes half your stuff, who cares? It's a small price to pay to be rid of the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

Besides, we're keeping all the fun stuff anyway (guns, military, freedom). She's only taking the crap we don't want (taxes, censorship, purple penguins).

she can have the effing military, too, or at least 90% of it, it's a ridiculously overpriced unemployment bureau, and that's all it is.

long as your state takes a equal percent of the debt before you leave the USA, I see no issue with it

let Texas go, and than they can build their own walls around their borders

Never happen; the younger generation is glued to their x-boxes; the older generation, you'd have to check the heart-lung monitors to make sure they were still alive.

No. We are headed towards tyranny and complete loss of any pretense of constitutional government.

Since Reagan presidents have been deregulating financial institutions making it possible for them to rip off Americans which has weakened the economy over and over.

The false flag of 911 was used to justify war, more damage to the economy.

If Americans do not unify in effective non partisan political action soon, the economy can be pushed over the edge. People are dependent on corporations. Corporations are dependent on the economy. When it fails immense strife can occur. Martial law will be instituted and suspension of the constitution will occur.

It will not return, and people will never have the independence needed to conduct a revolution. The money behind England will have gotten their colony back.

When people actually understand and value their civil liberties then we may go to civil war but it seems the majority are all too willing to exchange their liberties for securities.

Protests do not lead to revolutions. Absence of them does.

I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. (Thomas Jefferson)

It would take a pretty earth shattering event for the US to head to stereotypical civil war, so I'd say it's highly unlikely.

A civil war will not happen in the U.S. until a majority of the population is in a situation where lack of food is an issue.

My guess is if there is one it will be because the economy crashed and we are fighting over the essentials. A revolution would be difficult simply because we are not divided along any specific lines where one side can stand and look over at the other, they are standing right next to you, no I do not see a civil war. That said I could see some extremists try and start one but they would be destroyed quickly the American People would not support a overthrow if the government no matter how much some may wish it.

    - - - Updated - - -

And then we would not have to worry about the government, just how much ammo, food and supplies we have. The cities would become Hell on Earth really fast.

    - - - Updated - - -

Problem is the US is not divided geographically between Libs and Cons, never happen. There are other ways it can come about but a civil war, not likely.
