Interesting Harvard Crimson article about ADOS (American descendants of slavery) people, who oddly, are referred to as GAA, (Generational African American). But what I found interesting was how few there were of them at Harvard. There are plenty of black people at Harvard, but American ones? Not so much.

    "Are We In The Minority?"

As a first-year, I once heard from a teaching fellow of the Introduction to African American Studies course that GAA students make up 10 percent of Harvard’s Black population. For the Class of 2022, that would mean roughly 17 students.

Brown used to joke “that there were only a few of us on campus.”

Within Harvard’s GAA population today, O’Sullivan has noticed a seemingly large percentage of biracial students and students who come from socioeconomically-privileged backgrounds. “If we were to count the number of GAA students at Harvard who were descended from enslaved people, came from low income backgrounds, first generation, four grandparents descended from enslaved people, I feel like that number would be so low — like, maybe one person. It’s just so, so, so low,” she says.

Your fascination with Black people seems to border on obsession. Have you ever asked yourself why?

You always go completely off topic?

I think this highlights the power of money more so than race and that all races have individuals wealthy enough to take advantage of it. Or it could also indicate that poor people may have less desire to go to Harvard and would rather be in the working class.

Many poor black Americans are forced to attend schools in DP ruled urban hell holes where virtually all of them are discouraged from learning the basic skills necessary for them to function in our society. Admittance to Harvard? Not a chance.

“Last week, it was reported that every single soon-to-be eighth grader at LeBron James‘ ‘I Promise School’ has not passed the Ohio state math test since their 2018-2019 school year. Following the reports, the Ohio public school — which opened in 2018 to focus on at-risk students, and reportedly costs a yearly $8 million in taxpayer money — is now responding to the “discouraging” test results.”

I don’t blame the school at all. Black culture in poor black neighborhoods are culturally anti school and pro street. I believe Thomas Sowell hits the nail on the head with his book “Black Rednecks And White Liberals”

That may be, I don't know. Or maybe Black immigrant students are considered more "diverse" than African-Americans.

The progressives obsess about race issues, but then seem to completely ignore other inconvenient facts when it doesn't fit into the narrative.
"Who cares? Why does that matter?"
It's like their brain suddenly shuts off and they're unable to see basic connections, draw connections between facts. When an unusual statistic is presented that raises questions, they don't want to go down that line of questioning, because there's an uncomfortable feeling of where that line of questioning could lead to.
In other words, don't think about something if it is likely to lead to thoughts or conclusions that go against your established beliefs.

To be fair, the African immigrants who do come to the U.S. -- legally, and not the ones who come as refugees -- are often the cream of the crop. (Similar to immigrants from India)

It's not easy for immigrants from any part of the world to get in (well, fully legally at least). So the immigrants who are admitted usually have high level educational credentials.
Unlike Europe, the U.S. does not have too many African migrants coming illegally. The poorer African migrants typically head to Europe, because it's closer.

There have been some interesting studies that show IQ of the average African immigrants coming to the U.S. is higher than the U.S. average, despite the average IQ of the countries that they come from obviously being much lower.

You can be sure these elite universities have secret racial quotas in place to try to increase "diversity" and increase the number of black students, but probably what happens is the immigrants from Africa displace a lot of African American applicants from those slots. And in the more prestigious public university systems, they may prefer immigrants because of the higher tuition rates, the school gets much more money.

I think that's exactly what happens.
