that's kindof a misnomer though. folks aren't just attracted to self confidence, they're attracted to social self confidence. Someone who is confident at their profession; a confident driver, a confident outdoorsperson, a confident investor... no one cares about that confidence. Its all about how confident one is at dating. People are most commonly attracted to folks who are good at being attractive. Which is probably why professionalism and expertise in virtually all other activities is dwindling. Being social used to be a means to being successful in endeavors that required networking. Now being social is considered its own end. If this continues, civilization will burn while we watch and have witty conversation about it over a table of wine with friends.

can't have confidence in anything including dating, without overall self confidence... a person's confidence enters the room prior to them walkin in and that's alluring regardless of vanity, but even that doesn't a match make, both need to be attracted to eachother, so now the question is, 'what do self confident people feel attracted to' and just because one is self confident it doesn't mean they hold higher values in this regard, heck even the most self confident guy could go gaga over a pair of legs & a skirt...
I find self confidence an very attractive trait as well...but as we've seen through this thread many men here are terrified by confident smart women because they make them feel inadequate and that shatters the traditional male dominance attitude they've cultivated their entire lives...
true but initial visual attraction (which is normal)wears off with familiarity...and when it does your left with a personality, I found if that person isn't my intellectual equivalent or better I got bored very quickly...
i dont find that to be true at all. everyone is confident at something. Confidence is the result of being successful, not the other way around. 'Fake it til you make it' rarely actually works.
