Shut down the pipelines in America and import oil = Inflation

Shut down a whole country and it's manufacturing base = Inflation

Cave in to the demands of Unions and special interest groups = Inflation

Buy Stocks, Gold, Silver, Crypto while interest rates are low = Inflation

    and then.....and then....

Fuel prices get so high that people drive less, turn their AC and heating units lower, travel less = deflation

Companies start laying people off, cutting staff or find they just don't need some and never hire them back. If they do need workers there are a couple million illegals willing to work at lower wages and less benefits. = deflation

The Fed raises interest rates and whole segments of the economy slow down like housing and construction = deflation

Those in the stock market get caught off guard and there is a firesale on stocks. Losses eliminate the massive gains they made for the last few years = deflation

Stagflation sets in because no one wants to give back any price increases .

A depression sets in and those with cash buy up everything they can and wait for the next cycle of economic recovery. ( Could be years due the massive debt the government has accumulated) This will be the bane of socialism.

Joe Biden will go on TV and tell us that it is only morally right that were all broke and in the same boat. Somehow they will blame Trump.

Oh man..I looked at a Pot Roast in Publix. It was $36.
I blurted out "Oh hell no" in shock then turned to walk away and the butcher was like a used car salesman.
"Well maybe we can get you into something else." He said.
    I said "No thank you."
They're "showing" meat like used car salesmen at the grocery store.
It might be time to find out where to buy a 1/2 side and cut it up myself.
Or hire a pro butcher. While meat's way up at the supermarket, it's not at the stockyards as much, but dang! It is up a bit.

Paid $2.02 Gal for gas on Jan. 19. On Jan. 21 paid $2.08. And it’s gone up to $3.25 in just over 6 months.
So what happened between 1/19 and 1/21?

China Xoes payback to his backers.

In case you haven't been keeping up with current events, STUPID-19 happened.

When oil falls below a certain price, due to lack of demand, especially due to a pandemic, unprofitable oil wells get shut down.

You don't shut down an oil well with a mouse-click. The Oil Goddess does not descend in the most shimmering samite and wave her magic wand to cap the oil well, drain the coolants and hydraulic fluids from the machinery and blow air into the feeder lines and close all the valves.

An oil service crew does that, and it takes then 10-12 hours a day for 10 days or more to do it.

When an well is restarted, the reverse happens and yes, it takes 10-12 hours a day for about 10 days to restart the well.

And, no, sorry, you don't have an oil service crew camped out at each of the 950,000+ oil wells in the US (not counting off-shore wells.)

Then again, perhaps I'm incorrectly assuming that you don't wanna pay $18/gallon for gasoline.

Oil service crews get to a well when they get to a well and they don't get to a well before they get to a well.

This isn't the Star Trek Universe. We ain't got transporters transporting oil service crews to all the wells that were shut down.

    Got it?

It's gonna take 4-6 months to get all the wells restarted. I won't even get into the fact that the handful of oil refineries that you have producing gasoline probably used STUPID-19 time to shut down and do maintenance on their cracking stills and other systems, so they're not yet at 100% capacity (not to mention no refinery is ever at 100% capacity anyway.)

Of course I feel it. But the product shortage hurts much more because it hurts my business.

I get my meat for the price of a single .30-30 round. That way I know the animal lived as an animal should before it played its part in the food chain, and I get to enjoy my time out in nature.

These days all I’ll eat for meat is either fish for most of the year, or what I’ve hunted myself.

What exactly has Joe done that has influenced oil prices? I can tell you what caused oil prices to be depressed in January - demand was still down due to all the coronavirus shutdowns, resulting in artificially low prices. I can also tell you that current prices are being affected by high demand.

No - the reason that provisions cost more does not matter one **** to the folks hurt the most by inflation - and inflation is ALWAYS caused by what the paragons of society in DC and on Wall Street do - ALWAYS.
