Rest in peace, The Queen of Soul has passed away. She was one of my favorites. https://www.washingtonpost.com/busi...a1991f075d5_story.html?utm_term=.d1c999df2d11
Not sure why this would get moved out of Current Events to "Casual Chat", but whatever... To steal a recent and much discussed tweet from LeBron - Nothing in this world is more POWERFUL than Colored Women....... Prime example A right here... RIP
I believe Rolling Stone listed her as the greatest singer of all time. Ray Charles was #2. Anyone who hasn’t heard her should listen to her voice in “Think” from 1968. She did a version of that song in “The Blues Brothers”.
The Queen of Soul has passed on... Tributes flood in for Aretha Franklin 16 Aug.`18 - Tributes are pouring in from the worlds of entertainment and politics for Aretha Franklin, the US singer known as the Queen of Soul, who has died at 76.
Me either, but I am new here. Is the "Current Events" just political? I figured this was worthy enough for being in the current events. IMO, it's something worthy of a front page story.
No, you did everything correctly... Normally, all posts are supposed to 'ask a question' that spurs debate, but there was not one needed for your thread. There was a 2nd thread started on Aretha later in the day that didn't get moved, so you simply fell to the randomness of the moderators... Not to worry. Welcome to PF, even though I see from your posts to date that we are unlikely to agree on much....
Funny how things work out sometimes... Aretha Franklin Inadvertently Recorded One Of Vietnam’s Best Protest Songs 17 Aug 2018 - Aretha Franklin, the legendary singer whose full-throated vocals earned her the undisputed title of "Queen of Soul," died on Thursday of pancreatic cancer at the age of 76, her publicist announced.
hahha, welcome to the world of rule interpretation. Your thread is a current event to all of us reading...and youll probably find many rip threads in the section. Dont bother asking them why.
Your thread didn't meet the requirements for thread creation in the Current Events area. The thread title didn't match the article and you didn't have enough elaboration. Instead deleting your thread, I moved it to the Members Casual Chat area where the OP met the criteria for posting.
She was just 76. I didn't know she had pancreatic cancer, that kills a lot of people nowadays. I think she probably had a few songs left if not for that. Too bad and RIP
