I don't get why this is the first thing many people thought of after the bombing.

Who cares? She was a silly teenager.

You've made it as though she said this after the blast when in fact she said this in 2015. She's a twit for saying such a stupid thing, nevertheless.

10:46 PM PDT 7/7/2015 by THR . The time stamp on your link.

    Also from the link:
On July 8, the singer issued an apology for her "poor choice of words" in a statement, saying that she is "extremely proud to be an American" and was simply "upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole." Read the full statement here.

Dead thread. Loser thread. A very very dishonest thread.

Grande was caught licking a donut at a donut shop and got into trouble with the shop owner before uttering those words. The incident happened more than a year ago and I thought it would be the end of her career. But most people just dismissed it as silly Hollywood gossip and she became more famous.

I read about this a long time ago. Thought she was disgusting then, and I still do.

So what's the big deal here? Are people really getting outraged by what a young girl says? Sad.

She actually apologized after then President Obama disinvited her to sing at the white house. It's pretty bad when a liberal President like Obama thinks you're too toxic to be invited. The stupid little **** forgot that it's the US that made her famous and rich...Don't bite the hand that feeds you...Just ask the Dixie Chicks.

You mean the multi-millionaire Dixie Chicks? I'm sure they're heart-broken.

So what are you going to ask them?

Why is she a twit for stating an opinion ? I myself don't have a fondness for the European migration which took with it an unwilling African labour force which completely devastated the native population.

They made their millions before Natalie Maines opened her mouth in England, the stupid little twits didn't even realize that it wasn't what they said, but where they said it. Then they go on TV crying that they were censored and lack of free speech...

The question I have "how does it feel to be blackballed by the fans of country music and the radio stations in the US?"

Continuing record sales means they don't care. I admire them for telling the truth about Bush's lies and sticking to their principles. If a bunch of redneck Bluegrass fans from Cowflop, West Virginia are outraged I'm sure Maines et al will be absolutely mortified.
They achieved two platinum album sales in America three years after the Bush smackdown. What a dismal failure. 'Blackballed'? Hardly.

Actually those record sales happened mostly from Canada and Europe, not the US...Imagine what they could have accomplished if they had not alienated most of their fan base in the US. Houston canceled their show because radio stations refused to accept advertising for it, and that is not the only cancellation in the US.
They have not toured large venues in the US since 2003...Fans have boycotted them here and I never hear them on the radio. I do still like some of their music, and yes they stuck to their guns...but it hasn't helped them with a primarily conservative audience in country music in the US.

You think she was talking about a distant historical event?

    Don't be daft.

It's a big planet, and the US market is just one among many. I doubt there's much sleep being lost in their respective homes. They're partying while the detractors are whining. In any case music is no stranger to politics; Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan...

You're right when you say music is no stranger to politics, but isn't obvious that half the country is sick of hearing it...viewership is down across the board on all the music award shows, except the CMA which doesn't get political often. Most of the Hollywood events have lost viewers as well.

I don't know what she was talking about, but like me she expressed a dislike of America for probably different reasons. She was called stupid for just expressing an opinion.

Her opinion was silly, even stupid.

Again, she's a dumb young person.

    We've all been there.

Yes, and in that case we are all guilty of being stupid here, including me.

She's 24 and not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I'd love to have her for a weekend, but by Sunday evening I'd be begging to be released.

Hahaha, cmon this thread is ridiculous.

No one cares what this girl is saying. The way she said it was like how kids say they hate their parents. I hate you!! You don't let me lick donuts!!
