Arizona's Secretary Of State Says Kari Lake's Tweet Broke State Law

So, in a tweet, Kari Lake states "BOMBSHELL DISCOVERY" (link to the tweet in the link to the article, below) and cites "40,000 ballots illegally counted' and produced images of a dozen or so of them, in violation of state law. But, she forgot to mention that those ballots weren't 'illegally counted' and were from the 2020 election, not the 2022 election, as she claims. State AG Kris Mayes is calling for an investigation. ABC15 elections analyst Garrett Archer debunked Lake's claim, explaining the simple, non-fraudulent reason why these thousands of ballots didn't match voter signatures on record with the motor vehicle bureau.

Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes (D) on Monday requested an investigation and “appropriate enforcement action” against Kari Lake, the defeated election-denying Republican gubernatorial candidate, over a tweet that allegedly violates state law.

In a letter addressed to the state’s attorney general, Kris Mayes (D), Fontes argues that Lake’s post from Jan. 23, in which she falsely claims nearly 40,000 ballots were “illegally counted,” referencing an illustration with 16 voter signatures, violates a subsection of Arizona law.

“The protections afforded by this subsection prohibit posting any information derived from voter registration forms or precinct registers to the internet, and under no circumstance may a person other than the voter or an statutorily authorized person reproduce a voter’s signature,” Fontes writes in the letter, cited by MSNBC.

 

These MAGA's are so deep in their conspiracy theories that they are willing to break the law to prove what doesn't exist.

Lake held a rally a few days ago where she still asks for financial help from the MAGA to continue the fight.

It's not that your MAGA friends don't care, it's that they are embarrassed and don't have the arguments to defend Kari Lake.

 

Have you considered that they don't NEED to defend her? They know the actions of one doesn't equal the actions of many. Most of the right does not have a hive-mentality like the left does. (not meant as an insult either as there are some benefits to A HIVE)

I don't know. What I think might not be what many others think. I liked the common sense concepts that she ran on but I think she ruined herself with election denying. Again, this is just opinion.

 

Whether the Tweet was illegal or not those signatures damned sure don't match and it would be nice if the Sec State could figure out how to address THAT matter too.

 

Like Trump, her hero, Lake lost in court to overturn the election.

In fact, her case was so weak that there wasn't even a trial.

No competent jurist took her seriously anymore.

Lake was in court just a month ago and the judge ruled against her.

The best thing she can do is to see a psychiatrist to learn to accept her loss.

 

I'm still not understanding this explanation of the discrepancies in signatures but it must be my political lean that's clouding my vision.

I think it's much simpler than that, she's most likely still very successfully fund raising off of this grift through access to highly targeted private small donor lists.

 

So all this support for Trump even while he is knee deep in legal transgressions, and all others are knocked down, is not hive mentality.

Prove that the documents lake provided, illegally, were signed by the individuals she claims to have signed them.
If she can have access to the documents....it seems a little suspicious.

I have always stated I would remind Trump supporters when they were praising him, while making false election claims and taking Putin over USA intelligence services. Today is that day for me.
