Again, no. Politicians weren't making a political toy out of Kaepernick. Until Trump came along, it was not a political issue. It was a mediocre quarterback using the football field to get his message across, to whom, I don't know.

Kaepernick may be a role model for your kids. He isn't for my kids.

Just like President Trump isn't a role model for my kids. We're raising them to be decent young adults and not schoolyard bullying morons who use words like "sons of bitches" instead of being classy and grown up.

    I'm 55.

Yes, we all remember that one shot from when he was a Senator with Clinton and Richardson. None of them were looking in the same direction. So you have one shot from years ago, and that's all?

Rhetorical question. The answer is "yes, that's all".

Hey, it could have been worse. Obama could have been talking about the American citizens he took an oath to protect and call them "sons of bitches", or he could have simply attacked and denigrated US prisoners of war.

Luckily for you he'll likely die soon, and you can dance a jig on his grave. Screw that old POW. Like President Trump, you hate prisoners of war.

I made up my mind this morning after all of this crap and everything else he's done. President Trump is without question the most divisive President of my lifetime. He needs to be removed from office before he completely destroys any hope of this country coming together as one, and before he gets us into a nuclear war with North Korea.

I hate war period, but I mad respect those who fight the wars to keep innocent civilians, women and children out of wars. Trump's words were extremely out of line in attacking Senator McCain. What I regret, and what I think most regret is that I almost didn't care. I wanted a policy alternative to the past four years in 2016. That's why Paul, Rubio were my guys.

Then, I/we ended up getting stuck with the Donald through the country's decisions.

I firmly believe that if Rubio had debated Hillary, he would've won a landslide, both electoral and popular vote. When he had momentum, I wish he had contacted Haley about an endorsement, it would have literally shut the door on Donald Trump.

No doubt Rubio would have beaten Hillary. He's young, dynamic, likeable, hasn't got decades of suspicious activity in his closet, and is of Hispanic descent.

Nikki Haley did endorse Rubio, in February of 2016.

I thought she didn't lol. Because Politico was talking about them like a possible President/VP ticket. I'm just disappointed when I look back at his high rise and his fall. Maybe it was mostly because people weren't paying attention to the actual debates themselves. They were paying attention to Mr.Jackass like it was some kind of freak circus show.

And that's when the "little hands" meme was born. I truly believe Rubio did regret it, but he felt like there was no other way to actually get attention. And that speaks a great deal to this electorate than anything. I truly believe we missed a chance to have a great President.

That's just hypothetical drivel. Nothing else. He couldn't have won the republican primary despite all the money pumped into his campaign. Rubio is like a schoolboy. No charisma whatsoever. He would've been badly beaten.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a big boost for him in SC. I like Haley a lot. I'm not sure they would have been the right ticket though because they were both representing the south. But I would love to have seen them running the country today.

I'm sure Rubio regrets the little hands thing. It reduced him down to Trump's level, and he isn't that kind of person.

So much for Jerry Jones' support for Trump's ignorant words. He proved last night where he stands on the matter.

Trump is now an island with his rabid fan base, alone and twisting in the wind.

If Rubio's a schoolboy then Trump's a preschooler.(And only ONE of these things is true.) The "President" has never shown any sort of political acumen whatsoever. He just said "Believe me! You're all terrible! Wall!" and this somehow actually got past the primaries. He shouldn't have been past the First FOUR. What were Republican primary voters thinking?

I think Obama was far worse. He liked to interject his racism into matters that weren't the business of the WH. The beer summit, if I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon, etc.

Oh AN, I've also asked myself the last question many times. I'm one of the Republican primary voters who had a chance to select a real candidate, and Donald J. Trump was one of the ones I never even considered voting for, not even for 5 seconds. For me it was down to Rubio and Kasich, with Rubio ultimately getting my support. There were a few others I seriously considered for a while. including Pataki and Paul, and even very briefly Jeb Bush, but not for very long.

Rubio has smarts and class. He's polished. He's young and has a lot to learn, but that will come in time. He would have made a great President.

Instead, some idiot voters in New Hampshire got excited by "Da Wall!", "Muslims bad", "Ted Cruz is a *****" and other choice things.

What exactly did they say?. Quotes with references would be useful.

I do seem to recall some 'push polling' from the Bush camp in South Carolina in 2000 suggesting that his adopted bangladeshi daughter was an 'illegitimate black child'. Seems that Republicans save a special sort of nastiness for McCain despite his war hero status (or perhaps because of it).

Speaking of a hypothetical firing of a player isn't singling anybody out or personally attacking anybody. .

If I knew that a mere reference to fencing would get a bunch of votes, then it wouldn't be confusing. "I also support Da Wall!"(Actually, no. What made me a Rubio supporter was his explanation on the Gang of 8 Bill. At the time, I was against the Gang of 8. I'm pro-Legal Immigration, not so illegal immigration. And I thought that enabling it, would just allow it to continue.)

But then Mr. Rubio made an eloquent argument that in reality, the only way we're going to be able to deal with immigration is to find a legal path forward for those already here, and then improve border security. That's the only way it's going to get done.(I'm paraphrasing, I'm sure you also heard his answer during that debate.)

I was like "Wow, where'd this eloquence come from?" Then I read his website on everything from Education Reform to economic investment, and I was like "He's no ordinary GOP dude". Sure, he believed in neoconservative foreign policy but I was ready to swallow that bullet, if I got everything else.

If we wanted change, investment, etc we were going to get that from Rubio, but with an actual plan and not "The wall!"

You need to do what you and I discussed privately, and when you get to DC you need to align with Rubio. He's going places. In spite of what Trump is doing to the GOP, there is still a bright future for men like Rubio.

You've done nothing but denigrate Senator McCain. You do and say whatever President Trump tells you to do and say. That's damn sad.

When McCain is gone you can really let your hatred towards the man loose. You and your reality TV game show host leader.

Sorry, I don't recall mccains exact words and its not worth my time to look them up for you

Republicans like myself supported mccain in 2008

But only after he won the nomination

Because he was the first choice of practically no one

McCain is an old fool who deserves to be criticized

If you were reading this post which apparently you do not you would know that I gave him full credit for the military service

But that was over 45 years ago
