I just heard that sources are claiming that one of the articles of impeachment that will be voted on in the House next week is inciting insurrection. I'm hoping for about a dozen more but I will settle for at least that.

Obviously it will pass the house, but the senate. Maybe... It would definitely be a time for some of the GOP senators to show they disapproved of the way Trump handled things. But who knows how much dirt Trump has on some of them. The only thing I can say, if I were on a jury and only with the evidence I have seen so far, I would convict. But in fairness, I would convict most of the politicians in Washington for something. They are all guilty of self interest before the country.

They will need 67 votes in the Senate to convict. I seriously doubt that will happen even though some Republicans have already announced they will support the impeachment.

I must admit, that as much as I dislike Pelosi, she has shown me why she is a career politician. She has taken every opportunity to outplay republicans. She did it recently when she jumped on Trump's support of the $2000 stimulus payments and forced Mitch's hand in the senate which probably greatly contribute to the Georgia senate losses. Now she is playing on the bi partisan outrage at the Capitol riots and Trump's phone call. Many conservatives have spoken out against the president so now she is going to put them on the record.

Why are Democrats so palpably terrified such that they have this extremely urgent need to either Impeach or 25 Amendment Trump out on the flimsiest imaginable grounds with only a few days left in his term? Why are they pushing this out through every facet of their MSM propaganda branches and also furiously and repetitively via their huge internet shill armies? Hmmm? Could it have anything to do with the DNI Report sent to Congress yesterday?

There is nothing here, all LiEs.. deceit, corrupt politicians seeking political rewards

Trump DID not ask his protestors to storm capitol, those were a few rogue people, their actions.

the lack of security should be investigated, if security would’ve been adequate, this wouldn’t have occurred

trump and cruz and many other republicans NEVER asked for election to be overturned, just for an audit of results, to put a pause on things.. there were many irregularities and unconstitutional acts worthy of at least investigating further

ALL LIES and unprincipled behaviour from people who want more division and profit from chaos. DISGUSTING

I won't lie when I say that it's this kind of maneuvering that made me register as a Democrat. I can't trust the GOP when push comes to shove. Pelosi really does know how to handle herself and establish the Democrats as a major political power.

They only need 50 votes to prevent him from ever running for office again.

I'm sure that should be appealing to many Republicans.

The worst thing in life for Trump is to be a loser. He's been a loser as President, candidate for re-election, 60 court cases and will be a loser in several future court cases. Not to mention he'll be 80 years old IF he is able to run again. I really doubt he will take another shot at being an even bigger LOSER 4 years from now. So Trump running again is not something anyone needs to worry about.

Trump's out in two weeks people did you hear? It's laughable to think Democrats could even decide who's going to get the juicy speaking roles in that much time. Other than Shifty Schiff they'll be fighting it out for a spot on the prosecution team.

It's only a rough draft, at this point. But that seems to be the basic plan: numerous actions by Trump are being all put into this one, general charge of, "inciting insurrection." I think it is the sensible thing to do, in order to expedite the process; the rationale being that, even if the Senate is not ready to convict him at this point, having an article of impeachment already passed by the House would provide a disincentive for our outgoing President to engage in any other rash acts.

What fantasy world do you live in?

Trump asked state legislatures/governors to just throw out the votes and declare him the winner
Most of his court cases were about that
He asked Pence to ignore the constitution and just throw out votes
They could do all the audits they want - Trump will never ever admit the truth - he lost. GA did a hand audit and a signature audit that supported that the results were correct. Yet Trump was still pressuring them to just make him winner. He tweeted lie after lie, debunked conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory for months

He is a con artist and you have been conned and brainwashed. Nothing I can post on a message board will help de-progam you. I feel sorry for you

I agree despite the fact that having been impeached by the House once before then acquitted by the Senate only emboldened him to get to this point. And that was well predicted by those who impeached him. But there is no other choice, despite the distraction that we don't need with all the damage done over the last 4 years that Congress needs to concentrate on trying to repair, they can't let him off the hook.

Except Republicans. They would be the most interested in avoiding seeing him run in a primary.

This is what gives me the feeling that next week's Impeachment was not completely seen by the GOP as something negative.

Well hopefully that state of mind translates into enough votes in the Senate to convict.
