As a progressive, I am sickened of ANTIFA

Not that simple. The white supremacists may not get their literal way, but the overreaction by the left emboldens the right, particularly the polarizing rhetoric condemning conservatives and painting them as guilty by association. The Conservatives then take this as an opportunity to be spiteful and damage progressive policies/successes. the antifa are only dangerous to the extent that they mobilize the right in opposition

Politically, the white supremacy crowd has no power at all. They are a joke. The far left has plenty of political clout and routinely shuts down free speech and right to assemble.

The KKK was spawned post civil war and THEY (not me) would argue it was in self defense to crooked carpetbaggers and Union politicians that swarmed into the south to grow rich on corruption. Of course, it became the place for lunatics and racists and aspiring politicians to gather - including Supreme Court Judge Hugo Black, Senator Robert Byrd, and allegedly, Harry Truman. There have been both republican and democrat members of the clan - but democrats outnumber the republicans. David Duke is a political switch-hitter. No one can look at the vile, hateful and disgustingly ignorant white supremicists and not be sickened.

Antifa seems to have developed in Hitler's Germany in reaction to fascism. Their mission was to fight against the elites. Mainstream America was barely aware of Antifa until they showed up at Trumps inauguration, blocking streets and smashing cars; or in Berkely wearing masks, carrying weapons, setting fires and bashing in store fronts. Their violent focus is bifurcated between attacking racists and shutting down free speech. No one can watch the vile, hateful and disgustingly ignorant Antifa and not be sickened.

Which is worse? Is that really the question we need to ask?

 

Then why are liberals so loathe to condemn them?
I was shocked when they shut down free speech at Berkeley - but flabbergasted when the liberals, of all ideologies, turned a blind eye.

 

They are also against free speech.

Of course KKK and Nazis have a higher body count - you've just combined two big killer groups.
Antifa was not organized to kill - but when one swings clubs, uses flame throwers and clocks unsuspecting people with bike locks, you know it is just a matter of time.

Of course, history prices our ability to believe all wrong doing is due to random dieties that control various parts of our world, but that doesn't mean that followers of zeus are going to make a comeback.

I truly don't think this message of "Trump is a Nazi" is getting traction anywhere MSNBC and CNN. It really is going to be interesting to see how the votes go in the big upcoming elections as we continue forward

As of right now, I still don't really see Democratic support growing.

 

I find that groups like BLM and ANTIFA are actually more dangerous and vile. There are a couple of reasons for this.

1. the radical left is undoubtedly more violent than radical right. In the past 5 years or so, there is no comparison. Who has been responsible for all the violent riots? THE LEFT. These radical leftists have been resorting to violent protests for years, we've seen them shut down freedom of speech across college campuses and take to streets to express their hatred towards cops (BLM). How many of the radical right have been resorting to violent demonstrations in past 5 years There is no comparison

2. the KKK, neo-nazis are indeed deplorable people, basically losers who are ignorant and are not well in the head. Having said this, these groups have for the most part, being peaceful aside from this incident in Charlottesville. These white supremacists haven't been involved in violent incidents/riots in the past 5 years or so, i can think of at least 10+ incidents where the radical left has resorted to violence. This fringe movement (KKK) has largely just been ignored and has remained peaceful, irrespective of their deplorable views.

3. The radical left is IMO more deplorable because they are hypocritical and the ones resorting to violence, suppressing freedom of speech. We need to ask ourselves, would there have been violence if the KKK would've just been allowed to hold their rally without the radical left showing up in full gear, ready to fight? There seems to be a pattern here - where the radical left is, violence erupts. At least the KKK and neo-nazis are not trying to come across as 'the good guys' and they, for the most part, do not resort to violence unless the left is there looking for a fight. The left doesn't need the KKK or neo-nazis to become violent, they are violent when they are alone, without being confronted. The hypocrisy and dishonesty here makes them, IMO, as or more deplorable.
