As Much As I Despised The Last President, I Always Stood For My Country's Flag

What do you think "with liberty and justice for all" means.. Does it mean except for blacks, gays, Jews and Hispanics???? Respect for the flag is not a jingle and its not about the colors or the design. Its about what it stands for..

a confederate flag is not an American flag.

 

This isn't a protest conducted by the NFL. This is a protest initiated by black athletes in the NFL concerning the treatment of black citizens by the US justice system.

 

I guess you'll have to ask them that. Perhaps not ALL black people are the exact same people who share the exact same experiences in life? Weird concept, right?

 

Then perhaps it is incorrect to be attacking the confederate flag on the basis of it being used by racists, when there are member in the targeted group that do not share the same sentiments.

Perhaps activists should remain silent about matters that do not directly affect them, and instead let these groups speak up for themselves about what they do and do not want done in their name.

Perhaps these groups don't have a voice sufficient enough to get the public's attention and their grievances go unredressed.

The proud men and women of our military are getting killed by Muslims around the globe every day, so we need to stand up for them (i.e. for the flag.)

The Confederate flag is a flag of slave owners - those willing to fight and die to KEEP SLAVERY.

 

Not a protest of America, a protest against some systemic problems in America.

 

Then don't do it DURING THE AMERICAN ANTHEM.

 

Being an American gives people the right to pray during the anthem. Only dictators would try and force people not to pray during the anthem.

I want to protest the blacks killing whites. Do I do it on a football field or perhaps a basketball court now that it's season is about to open?

The protests aren't against the flag. They aren't against the Anthem. They aren't against the military. They are against the inequality and injustice as perceived by the black community. Minorities have been protesting this for decades and longer. It didn't just start recently. It's an ongoing problem that becomes more apparent with personal recording devices as well as dashcams and bodycams on cops as well as the data that shows our justice system is anything but blind.
