He taught the duty of finding what prisoners need and helping them with those needs. His message to the "rich man" was stark. And, the issue with abortion is the method of reducing the number of abortions. Most people would like to see the number go down. But, writing draconian laws against women is neither necessary not acceptable as a method. Biblical passages against same sex behavior don't address the dedicated supportive long term unions of those of the same gender - they address bacchanalia. At the time of the Bible, sexuality was nowhere near as understood as it is today.
