But that's not what the OP asked.

And late term abortions are banned in the US except for the life/health of the woman or fetus.

How would law enforcement, trying to obtain evidence to prosecute a woman and/or doctor, under an abortion ban....

    force such an examination???

She apparently knows more about gynecology...than you do.

Okay...now explain EXACTLY how it would be proven?

You know, most cases of child abuse go unreported.

Oh, but Anders....you HAVE ways to make sure an abortion ban is enforced...don't you remember? We've been through this before.

You'd support ultrasounds at airports and border crossings....even the idea of a "bio-chip" to monitor women and their reproductive status.

    A subpoena?

Why? Because she says what you want to hear?

So in your "pro-life America"....the police would be obtaining "uterine search warrents"?

They would obtain search warrants for the same reason any warrant is needed in reference to medical information and evidence. They would obtain a warrant for a reasonable search during an investigation of a suspected broken law.

    A search warrent....for a uterus?

or if you mean "the doctor's records"...the doctor will write in his records that it was "a miscarriage, which warrented a therapeutic D&C (the proscribed treatment)"....

so your "evidence" would exonerate the doctor...not convict him.

So now you're a lawyer? It would be a court ordered medical exam just like a blood draw or any other medical examination used during an investigation. Of course this is all hypothetical bull(*)(*)(*)(*) that is detracting from the OP.

    1. A "blood draw" might show the woman was pregnant...but she could still claim it was a miscarriage, not an elective abortion. So that would prove nothing.

    2. What OTHER "medical examinations" would the court order?

Again, are you suggesting "search warrents for uteruses"???

And these questions relate DIRECTLY to the OP....which asks "If abortion were illegal...how would you PROVE in a court of law that a woman had had one?"

So far, you have come up with nothing......except some very interesting ideas for a totalitarian police state aimed at women.

No, I came up with one possibility and a constitutional way police could obtain the evidence. You're ridiculous.

How do you suspect someone of abortion?

What exactly do you tell the police when you call then to report this "crime" ? That you peered through your neighbor's window and watched her having sex but she never had a baby?

Someone's pregnant one day, not the next and no baby to show for it?

HOW do you know she's pregnant? Are you her doctor?

Do you get to examine ALL women on a regular basis to monitor if they're pregnant or not? Or will the Big Government force women to be tested once a month?

What if she has a natural miscarriage? She should be subject to YOU examining her to be sure? Even though you can't tell the difference...

...Women are guilty until proven innocent?

WHAT do you tell the police when you call to report an abortion and why can't you Anti-Choicers EVER answer that question????

So what we have here is a call on your part to be able to probe any woman who has a miscarriage.
I watched what my wife went through after a miscarriage. I will say she would have shot anyone who tried to
subject her to a pelvic exam after that and I would be loading the gun for her ...

No way I would subject women your type of BS.

There are noticeable changes in women when they are pregnant.

You guys are sure getting worked up over a hypothetical.

    I didn't say that.

So how would you prove a miscarriage was intentionally induced or not? How would you prove a miscarriage was not actually a back room abortion unless you subject the woman who had the miscarriage to a pelvic exam?

That's the whole point. Abortion laws are unenforceable unless you can force every woman into invasive procedures.
So yes, you did say that - you just aren't owning up to it.

What? A letter "P" appears on her forehead? Her belly suddenly overnight gets really big?

WHAT do you say to the police when you call 911 to report an abortion?

I see you, like all other Anti-Choicers, can't answer that.

You're drawing conclusions from my remarks.

I'm pro-life, but I'm not against birth control. The problem is that we're not teaching our society to take responsibility for their actions and that choices have consequences.

The same thing anyone would say when reporting a suspected crime.

That would depend on the situation and what I knew or saw/witnessed.

If you look at European abortion laws, there are penalties for illegal abortion varying from 1 year imprisonment to 8 years (from what i saw, there are possibly harsher punishments). It would be interesting to see how they determine if an abortion was performed illegally.

It's easy enough to find out.

Women become ill and need hospital admittance. It used to happen all the time in the bad old days.

WHAT would you know, see or witness?

See, it isn't so simple , is it?

And why would you want to make an innocent woman's life hell? You would have to be somewhat close to her to "know" anything.......why would you want to make someone you're close to suffer?

Those "noticeable" changes aren't apparent until at least 4 months and probably longer unless you're the "pregnancy police" and have women of reproductive age under a microscope. Over 90% of abortions will occur earlier than that.

Laws are passed over hypotheticals. Damaging, harmful laws are passed without thinking through the consequences of those laws. We "guys" are just trying to get you to think through what would really happen.
