    How can this happen?
This cop was harassed by other cops.
I hope some LEO here can try to make heads and tails of this.
Will you please tell us all why this cop was arrested?

This is why local authorities prefer that federal authorities coordinate within prior to operating within their jurisdictions. Technically the feds don't have to do so, but they really should if they want to avoid this.

I'm not in a place where I can watch the video, so I can't comment on detail at this point. However, this is not an isolated case. I saw a dash cam video where a state officer pulled over a county officer (or some separation like that) for reckless driving and excessive speed. Long high speed chase. The later officer did not have any lights or siren on to indicate a need to do so, and nothing had come across the radio. Eventually the county officer was stopped and arrested, and his boss supposed the state officer doing so. I'll see if I can find it when I get home (at a board game/camping convention ATM).

Even so, if one agency doesn't let the other know that they are working the area, the arresting officer isn't going to simply take, "I'm an ATF officer" at face value

The ATF agent in this video is a whiney-butt female dog and any LEO who thinks otherwise should be fired.

Numbnuts goes to a residence to ask about a shotgun. Numbnuts has no warrant. The resident invokes her civil rights and refuses to open the door to him. Someone calls the police and tells them a man impersonating a police officer is trying to break into the apartment of a woman with young children.

Now, Numbnuts doesn't have any reason to be there. The woman has invoked her rights and Numbnuts has no warrant. So does Numbnuts leave? No, Numbnuts sticks around long enough for the police to come in an attempt to stop a man from killing a woman and her children.

Numbnuts is to stupid to realize the situation and refuses to get on the ground and obey a lawful order. He continues to resist arrest and proceeds to whine like a lady dog about having a make-believe medical condition. And then Numbnuts sues.

Sorry, if you're LEO and and you support Numbnuts, you should be fired.

looked like the cop knew he was ATF to me as the person that called the police gave his identification to 911 before they arrived

personally I think ATF agents and cops should always have to go in pairs, it's safer for everyone involved

The idiot cop should have kept his cool and simply asked the agent to slowly pull out his ID. Both of these guys made complete idiots of themselves. The fed is a whiney little bitch and the fat old cop is a big mouthed blowhard. Hopefully both of them will get fired.

This ATF law enforcement agent found out the hard way that police will often handcuff people first and ask questions later.

Law enforcement people often have a mentality of expecting other people to comply, and pulling out their gun when they feel the slightest bit threatened. So things can sometimes get messy when two different law enforcement sides find themselves on opposite ends of an immediate confrontation during an unexpected encounter.

Single law enforcement agents who are by themselves are more likely to get detained. There is much more credibility in groups. Someone who is all by themselves and trying to carry out the law, others are more likely to suspect them of possibly being a criminal.
