Worth noting that all of the "toxicity" that came your way was entirely in RESPONSE to the toxicity that you were projecting towards atheists so it is fair to say that what you feel is self inflicted.

I'm done. Our disagreement is all about 0.00000033% of all the gods man has created. Lots and lots of drama over such a minuscule thing. It really is annoying, though, that doubting the existence of 0.00000033% of all the gods is viewed as such a horrid insult to Christians. I'm not insulting Buddhists when I say that I doubt the existence of the 33,000,000 gods they currently worship. You likely doubt the existence of all those gods as well.

So, stop insulting Buddhists, I guess.

No, it's about the one God man could not possibly create.
Yeah, my heart bleeds. Too bad no one will ever know what the hell this has to do with anything I said.

Sounds like you are the one with the threatened ego. You are locked into the supernatural mindset and assume that atheists don’t know about Christianity and Judaism. I know very much about them and I practiced religion until I just couldn’t suspend logic anymore

I guess a kid could use the same argument about Santa Claus since there is only one Santa Claus so therefore man could not create him. How is it different ?

Not even clear on the logic he's using. If we understood, we'd believe? Lol...

After eight years of CCD (Catholic training,) and living the life until in my 30's, I know something about it.

The atheists I personally know, just me, just those atheists (cf. "all the atheists in the world") and have encountered online are smug and disrespectful when it comes to religion. They believe that all notions of right and wrong are subjective and result from convention. I happen to disagree, even confessing that I may be wrong, and still they go nuts. You're doing the same thing. It is a fact that this is my personal experience. If your experience is really different, I'm delighted.

But I don't think it is. In the thread that you started, you described a toxic environment in, low and behold, an atheist forum.

You don’t even realize how smug and disrespectful you are so don’t hold yourself morally superior. We don’t go nuts but it sounds more like you are going nuts. I hope you’re not addressing me, because I did t start the thread but when you meet a few atheists and form a stereotype. ,,you keep me in business, (I do workshops in prejudice awareness)

I expect it does, to your jaundiced ears.
Knowledge is one thing; understanding, quite another.
Did I say one followed from the other, Gracie?
More to the point, you're not the least bit interested. Your interest is in refuting arguments I never made in defense of your sacred cow.
Sure, like Catholicism per se has any bearing on the point of contention here.

    1. Lack of knowledge is not a sacred cow. If you have some evidence to share, I'd be interested in seeing it. My opinions are not set in stone; they change as my knowledge of facts changes. My opinion on the 2nd amendment, for instance, has changed rather dramatically in the last 15 years, due to my improving my knowledge on the topic of guns.
    2. I was accused of not knowing anything about religion. I was raised as a Catholic; it's entirely relevant to that point.

You do go nuts. And for some reason you can't acknowledge even the possibility that the atheists I personally encounter are jerks.

You sound insecure in your "atheism."

Yup - name a category of people and I will find jerks. Circus people? They have jerks. High school cafeteria ladies? Jerks there, too. Park rangers? Jerks... some of them.

Can you name a single group of people who are all pure and lovely people? No. You cannot.

Religious Christians? Jerks there... Atheists... jerks there, too.

OMG! We have *******s living amongst us! Who knew?

Maybe I misunderstood... did you leave that atheist forum because of uninvited Christian trolls, LOL?

You can always go back there, you know. You don't sound too happy here either.

Yes, Renee, I was confusing you with Awesome. My apologies. Probably because now, according to you, I'm "nuts." That's arguably a forum violation, by the way, but I'm happy to see your true colors and do not protest. I only claim that you " go nuts" when a Deist walks into the forum in the figurative sense. See here: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=go nuts

As to the merits of your claim, I don't care for you or your posts either.

I've stated clearly and have repeated that my observations about atheists are my own, and only about the atheists I have met and have admitted that there are exceptions, and that I may be wrong. If you insist on extrapolating that to all atheists in the world, or even to most atheists, that's on you. As for your work in prejudice detection, do keep Maslows's Hammer in mind.

I think there is something comical about you saying that I have jaundiced ears and that for some reason you are superior because you understand, implying that I don’t. Knowledge is one thing but your understanding I consider wrong

I did not say that you are nuts I said the same thing you said about “going nuts” You seem to be able to give it but not able to take it. You are the one who use the expression going nuts about a group of people but if it’s turned around on you it becomes “a violation” I had students like you
One thing I find the most nauseating is your observations about atheist as though you have met thousands to form an opinion like this. I imagine you met probably a few and stereotyped.I’m sure you met some wonderful people who are atheists but I would imagine you didn’t know the religious belief or do you go up to a person and say ,lare you an atheist? “I can stereotype about evangelicals and how they think ..based on the few I met. By the way my work isn’t detecting prejudice it’s just making us all aware of it. And one of the first things I teach is that you don’t overgeneralize because of a very narrow experience.

No, "going nuts" simply means overreacting. "To be nuts" means to be crazy, mentally ill, deranged, or insane. And why wouldn't you think that, since I still believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster that you "outgrew" in your thirties.

I guess the reason I don’t acknowledge the possibility that the atheists you en counter are jerks is because to be honest I don’t believe you. It sounds like you do the opposite when you find out someone is an atheist then you conclude they are jerks. I’ve met Christians who are absolute jerks but I do not stereo type Christianity as a religion of jerks.
I am not insecure in my atheism nor am I secure in it..... it just is. You are the one who sounds quite insecure that you have to stereotype people to make your point

Exactly and that is what I said .here is the exact quote ....”we don’t go nuts but it sounds more like you are going nuts”
Who said I don’t believe in the flying spaghetti machine?

Not about to answer for the voices in your head, sorry for any inconvenience.

But thanks for advertizing your egocentrism, just like Little Miss Pretend to be Curious over there.
    And properly so.
Swell, but from there the conversation has nowhere to go.

Welcome, altho belatedly. I hope it's been cool here for you.

Trust me, so you won't need to be surprised; the "non-atheist" members here will use those words to snake your posts/treat you like a leftist.
