I just don't see that. Today, organized religion is receding. Even Christians of the various denominations are moving toward accepting "new age" ideas along with those dictated by their denomination. That is a clear sign of deterioration. It's a slow process. But, that doesn't mean it isn't happening.
Folks in the west are rejecting religions that accept tax breaks for following a government/establishment spin on doctrine. As example- 501c3 Christian churches preach that 'give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's' means 'pay your taxes' when its far more likely that Jesus was recomending avoidance of using of Roman (or establishment) currency altogether. Another example: 501c3 church doctrine preaches that Romans 13 says to obey the government, which it does if you ignore the context of the time and location if the writing. Romans was essentially about taking over the Roman government by cooperating and influencing it, which eventually happened. Its not a decree by God to obey all governments, but a strategm to use man's authority systems to do God's work. 501c3 (religious tax exemption) in the US was established to essentially control the voice of the pulpit and align it with the establishment narrative. As the establishment loses its popular support, so to is its pulpit mouthpeices. Religious folks are realizing the role that religion plays in propaganda and social control. They're rejecting the establishment propaganda in preference for an interpretation that makes more spiritual sense on an individual level.
The atheists can express all the faith they want, and good on them in America. But the OP is false, as we all well know.
