and if you observe the chart, the rate has been in a more or less steady decline and previous charts that I saw that go back further did not show a huge drop with the 96 gun ban. One chart will also show that except for a couple years, guns were used the least amount for homicides.

There is no correlation between firearm ownership and crime, either at the state, city or even at the level of a country.

US homicide rate is now equal to what it was in the 40's. In the 40's you could order a gun out of a mail order catalog.

 

To recap: 1) most of the immigrants you get are not from 3rd world **** holes 2) you're on an island so dealing with border issues is far easier so you don't have as much a worry about illegal traffic as we do. Understanding that that traffic is generally run by cartels who are exceedingly enthusiastic about a bit of the old ultra violence. 3) those illegals you do round up, you segregate off on islands away from the populace.

And you think this has exactly zero effect on your crime rates.

That's wonderful. I'm impressed. Only about 13,000 dead people (murders) per year is acceptable by your standards, over 17,000 in 2017 but what is a few thousand people?
