This is something I feel strongly about. Australia's leaders are once again echoing America and I absolutely cringe when I listen to them. Does Turnbull think he's fooling anyone into believing this is Australia talking? Synchronised announcements....

James Mattis warns against North Korea’s threat, as Malcolm Turnbull warns against Chinese bullying

^^^ about our biggest trading partner
Our exports to China 5% in 2000 up to 32% in 2013, every other country including US have decreased

‘I’d change name and move to Himalayas’: Aussie policy guru’s advice for Trump’s advisers

DONALD Trump’s advisers should make a run for it, and Australia needs to quietly back away too, according to a writer, historian and satirist with decades of experience working in policy.

I agree with David Hunt, Australia needs to stop echoing America and look after it's own interests with an unbiased foreign policy

    sw,
    what do you expect?
We are the 51st US state, we behave like them, we accompany them in any war asked, we lick their boots.
I always believed there comes a time when we start maturing, and seeking new friends.
However, for a reason not known to me we don't.
The protectionism issue doesn't cut it for me,
    cheers

With Tump in the steering seat I do not trust him not to get us embroiled in yet another never ending quagmire of a war

Time to wean ourselves off of the American teat

The graph says it all. It is absolutely ludicrous to offend our largest exporter without at least quiet diplomacy.

I gotta say though, that gross exports probably haven't changed, obviously nett exports are down in other countries obviously due to China's once seemingly insatiable appetite for our mineral resources.

So no, we shouldn't be subservient to the US and more so while Donald Duck is in charge. Leave the big boys to their games and we quietly go about our business. Turnbull is going to rely on the deputy sheriff's badge in these ere parts to get him over the electoral line no doubts!

No matter who is in power, they war monger. Obama was no better in this respect. Heck, so far, he was worse.

I've long said we should focus on Asia.
