Since 2014 the US has been experiencing fewer tornadoes since record keeping began in 1953.

    No trend in cyclones.

They don't have to, in fact, the whole problem with the climate change narrative is that it became enmeshed in politics.

It's called "education". I know of many people on the right who would have benefited from it.

The right-wing's war on education is slowly driving one major political party into becoming the Party of Ignorance.

I propose a deal: We don't "demand" any of those things from you, and you just... stay out of the way while the grown-ups fix the problem.

Your prohibition to heat your home, drive to the hospital, clean water, ... etc... Is hereby lifted. In exchange you promise to stay the hell away from repeating anti-science BS such as that... somebody is keeping anybody from driving to the hospital or heating their home... or any of that nonsense.

There you go. Now print this, and shove it in the face of the next Climate Inspector who knocks at your door. They will be dressed in all-White Suits (Black suits were already taken by the guys on the other conspiracy theory), white hat and white-frame glasses. You will see them immediately get back into their Prius and speed away in a puff of... uhm... Ozone...

According to the 2012 study, republicans were better informed than democrats or independents.

How is someone voicing their opinion on the internet interfering with the highly “intelligent and motivated” complex of climate change personnel’s attempts at saving the planet? If a few calls for critical thought are derailing such important work, I have a hard time believing your crew is up to the task. Seems to me if we are dependent on such impotent snowflakes for survival, we are truly “fastener consisting of a cylinder with inclined plane wrapped around it in a helical fashion-ed”.

    Oh! My word yes!

Hit one the other day claiming that “no scientist believes in the greenhouse effect”. Good grief! I would be embarrassed to stand in the same room as this level of ignorance let alone align myself with it!

Mind you I still think the corker was claiming that CO2 was measured wrongly because co2 is heavier than air and Muana Loa is high

Pity the ignorance has increased since then

    Speaking of ignorance:

After every major bushfire, there are inquiries, funded by the State. And the conclusions are exactly the same.

CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) is Australia’s national, state-owned science agency. In 2015, CSIRO bushfire scientist David Packham had warned that “forest fuel levels [in the state of Victoria] had climbed to their most dangerous level in thousands of years,” a situation he attributed to “misguided green ideology” and which presented “an increasing threat to human life, water supplies, property and the forest environment.” Packham recommended the tripling of the fuel-reduction burning target. But in fact, even the minimum target agreed by both major political parties was not met, only a quarter of it was done (less than a tenth of what was actually required).

Social media disinformation is turning out to be a very powerful tool

Think of it as “Gossip by Internet”

It has been shown several times. I can do it if you really want. And you have no objective evidence that anything changed.

Depends on what you call disinformation. Those that fall for the hysterical and always wrong predictions of disaster are easily subject to disinformation.

Yeah yeah... Climatologists know nothing about "cool periods" and "rebounds". They spent their 6 to 8 years of education leading to a PhD learning how to invest in Prius and Solyndra... so they could make a profit.

Look.... I don't know how many more ways to say this: I spent 25 years debating absurd claims like yours and trying to teach people science. The time for you guys to learn science is gone. The train has left the station. Those who didn't learn didn't learn. 2019 was the second hottest month in History. 4 of the hottest years in history have happened in the last 5 years. 19 of the warmest years in history occurred in the last 20 years. It's getting worse. There is no more time to wait for you guys to learn Science. Now it's time for action. Time always disposes of the dinosaurs. I am very optimistic about the new generations. Millennials remind me of my generation in the 60s and 70s. We accomplished things. Then we dropped the ball and fell behind. Now it's this generation's moment to accomplish something. It's their world now, and they're not taking crap! The rest of us just need to get out of their way and let them fix the mess we made. And you don't have to do anything. Nobody is telling you to get rid of your SUV or your old hot light-bulbs if you don't want to. You don't even need to understand the science behind the mess. All you need to know is that there are new grown ups now on the job, and stay the hell out of their way.

Yet 2019 was not the second warmest year according to other records.

The gullible fall for the hype based on the least likely worst case computer model yet observed science easily proves that wrong by half and more than half for the lower troposphere.

Some want to believe in the fantastical that will not happen and with complete hubris believe man is the problem and fix.

I have no idea where you guys got this nonsense that fighting climate change means not using gasoline. I'm sure it was Hannity or Rush or.... one of those wingnuts.

So let's at least get this straight: fighting climate change has nothing to do with forbidding the use of the most efficient energy source available. It has nothing to do with not flying on jets, or with forbidding the use of SUVs, or with any of the nonsense the right-wing media echo-chamber wants to associate with Climate Change activists. Nothing!

When there are 10 times the Democratic professors as Republican in higher ed., Democratic teachers in lower grades outnumber Republicans by 40% to 27% respectively, and something like 90% of teachers are members of unions that consistently contribute 93% to 99% of political donations to the DNC, I’m not sure how Republicans can be ruining education. Are people you disagree with just statistical anomalies that ended up with only Republican teachers and professors?

Is it because Republicans favor competition in education that they are seen as enemies of education?

Suppose some people are wrong. How does that produce impotence in those who claim to be correct? How does someone’s opinion impede concrete actions?

    Peer pressure

People often believe what they think the majority believe. We have been in this stinking loop now for years though

Scientists warn of danger - misinformation spread by EXXON and CO (who did not want their profits to dive) public swallow disinformation (see posts hysterically claiming that a conspiracy of scientists are trying to make us live in grass huts) result: anti environmental twits like Scott Morrison and Trump get elected............. ergo sod all action on the problem

    Repeat ad nauseum

Question K4, Answer: Anything about Nuclear, etc, Dem Correct 41, Rep Correct 50

Question K5, Answer: Republicans, Dem Correct 66, Rep Correct 69

Question K6A, Answer Anything about Keystone, etc. Dem Correct 11, Rep Correct 12

Question K6B, Answer Santorium, Dem Correct 32, Rep Correct 44

Question K7, Answer Romney, Dem Correct 43, Rep Correct 60

    Question K8, Answer 8.1 to 9.0%, Dem Correct 34, Rep Correct 44

Republicans answered all nine questions correctly more often than democrats.

There are tables in there where people claim that is not true. However, those tables do not include the entire population that took the test. it comes down to the very basic fact that republicans answered each and every question correctly more often than democrats. Mathematically, it is impossible for them not to have a higher average score.

    IN AMERICA

Climate change is a global problem but America seems to have made it a distinctly political one

So much so that republican = God, guns, abortion and no freaking climate change!
There seems to be little room for thinking outside of that box
