There has never been anything like 'home confinement' here. No one was ever locked in a building, apart from two public housing complexes (one in each of two different States). We've been free to spend as much time outdoors as we like. We could have spent the entirety of those months long lockdowns camping in the woods if we wanted to. We personally know people who spent lockdown on boats, in motorhomes, at holiday homes, in the wilderness, etc etc. Our lockdowns were always about PUBLIC INDOOR SPACES, but even then you could still go to supermarkets and pharmacies and other 'essential' businesses.

Prove your claim that "Lifesitenews" out of Osaka is "Conspiracy theory" What a joke given you have come up with Zero sources backing your claim up .. so mine is a whole lot better than yours..

What's wrong mate . the net should be reaming with data that backs up the Biden Fauci narrative ... "Much higher risk from Covid"

Where is your data - where is the back-up for your claim.. you don't like the Japan Study.. .. you claimed it was "disputed" . Back up your claim. .. and this study as well.

do you understand what the above is saying .. ? pssst "Fauci lied to you" and the Biden Clown does not know any better. .

NO and I mean NO problems!! Oh! And don’t bother with the attacks on Fauci and Biden I am an Aussie and don’t take my info from them in any rate
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LifeSiteNews
Even a research paper on vaccine misinformation that mentions them https://arxiv.org/pdf/2106.08423.pdf
    https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/life-site-news/

    https://www.techarp.com/science/lifesitenews-ivermectin-flccc/

The article in the Guardian was a report of a pre published study - so no peer review and although “updated” on the 20th September has not mentioned of the study has yet been published which may suggest major “issues” with the study itself

in fact I doubt you read that article in its entirety as it certainly does not back your contentions in relation to lethality of the vaccine

There has been criticism of the study design https://www.bmj.com/content/374/bmj.n2251

study in the Journal Nature showing increased myocarditis in the COVID group as compared to the vaccine group

Referring to the first sentence of your post, IMO, progressives emulate Mussolini and Hitler because Mussolini, Hitler and progressives were/are highly authoritarian.
A person or government who is highly authoritarian has an extreme need to control people. A person or government who is highly authoritarian is more likely to be fascist than simply being right winged, for example. Liz Cheney is a case in point in which a right-winger is fascist...Trump isn't a case in point in which a right-winger is fascist because Trump is the opposite of authoritarian...Trump is more libertarian...Heck, Trump really isn't a right-winger...I digress.

Where progressives, Liz Cheney, Joe Biden, Hitler and Mussolini, for examples, diverge is when they disagree politically with each other because there is no compromise among authoritarians. As I've already posted, progressives, Liz Cheney, Joe Biden, Hitler and Mussolini all agree/agreed people need to be controlled.

Yeah but most places in the world don't have internment camps and all these Draconian rules.

The point GOP was making was that those rules do nothing except for crush the people and that's what they're designed to do.

You want to go through the number of deaths again?
24 times more likely to die of Covid in the US compared with Australia.

Don't care where you are from mate -- you have been parroting the Biden-Fauci False narrative.

Y You crying "fake news site" - is ad hom fallacy. I posted from link that which supported claim.. you did not address that information.. but agree that this site didn't support its numbers real well ..give us the specific numbers I would have liked .. but .. doesn't make the claim false .. and puts ownus on Biden Fauci to produce .. which they havn't other the generalization fallacy.

Link 2 does support my claim - and I post from that link that which supports my claim .. one that you don't seem to onderstand

The claim on the table here is not as you describe -- the claim on the table is that the Biden Fauci team have lied - stating that the vax is less harmful than the disease ..across all people and democraphics {aka generalization fallacy) The claim is that this harm of vax is insignificant trope is unsupported.

The guardian article looks at folks showing up at hospital vs myocarditis in the vax ..
So the chances of myocarditis is claimed to be 4-6 times greater than showing up at the hospital for boys 12-15. - we are not comparing to lethality here (if we do that the numbers are even more ridiculous).

    1) if you get myocarditis you show up at the hospital = if you don't show up at the hospital . you don't have myocarditis.. I know personally a 22 year old male who got myocharditis from the vax .. and you damn sure show up at the hospital.. scarring of your heart for life .. can have.

So here is your choice --- assume chance of showing up at hospital is 1 in 1,000,000 for this 12 yr old .. chances of myocarditis is 1 in 250,000 - 160,000 .. do you take the Jab ? Note we havn't included that you can get nasty side effects other than myocarditis .. probability of getting some side effect is much higher than 1 in 160,000.

In Canada - where they publish weekly updates on vax side effects .. tell you what each effect was by the numbers
    https://health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/vaccine-safety/

    34,426 side effects .. population 36 million - assume 70% vaxed = 1 in 732 chance of side effect.

Of these side effects 7378 are severe 21.4% = 1 in 3400. A far cry from 160,000 now isn't it. and you can cut the number in half for our demographic 16-29 year old male .. never mind one who has had covid.

These are huge numbers .. Serious means
Myocarditis was 1745 .. = 1 in 14,000 "overall" similar to the Israeli study 1 in 10,000 for males 16-29 .. and if since this group more succeptible .. it is more like 1 in 7000 for our age group.

What do you figure the chance of showing up in the ICU from "Covid" is throughout this pandemic for our group. https://www.alberta.ca/stats/covid-19-alberta-statistics.htm#severe-outcomes

Will use a high number .. call it 200 .. males 10-29. going to be 20% of the population of 4.5 million = 900,000 = 1 in 4500 chance of showing up in the ICU from Covid.

and you might be tempted to go "Look Look" roughy the same as chances from the vax .. which is the Biden Fauci Fallacy.

cause folks showing up in the ICU - 75% have one or more comorb - so .. x 4 if you don't have one of those .. 9 out of 10 will be pneumonia succeptible/immune compromized so 10 x

So of the 200 showing up in ICU - 50 did not have a comorb .. of those 5 were not immune compromized/pneumonia succeptible.
So we have 5 males 10-29 .. that "Might" have been healthy .. we left out Obesity .. can reduce it to 1 or 2 .. but will leave it at 5 .. out of 900,000 = 1 in 180,000 chance of a healthy male 10-19 showing up at the ICU

So you have a 1 in 3400 chance of a "Serious" side effect .. 1 in 7-10,000 chance of that effect being myocarditis .. vs a 1 in 180,000 chance of showing up in the ICU.

and those numbers are for Delta and previous. Omicron ? multiply by 3 at least .. this is nothing .. doesn't even attack the lower respiratory like Alpha-Delta .. the thing that got most of those folks sent to the ICU.. and you know this..

Maybe 1 in 500,000 chance of a healthy male 10-29 showing up in the ICU from "Omicron"

The odds of one of these "healthy" males who has already had covid showing up in ICU ? maybe 1 in 1,000,000

There you go .. I will rip apart your studies later.

One hundred times as likely to have your rights taken away in Australia than the US. BTW, how is Australia handling, er, including the Covid numbers from the Aborigines?

The often used definition that fascism only exists on the right is misinformation, at least. More likey that definition is propaganda.

High levels of authoritarianism is more an indicator of fascism than being a righty, for example. I'm saying some on the right are fascist because they're highly authoritarian. I'm also saying the highly authoritarian from the center and the left are fascist.

Mussolini was a lefty and was the father of fascism. Hitler was a centrist and was a fascist. Communist China is far left and is fascist. Australia is fascist...I'm not sure how righty or lefty Australia is, er, how much Australia prefers capitalism or socialism. White supremacists are fascist and white haters are fascist.

The fact that the left supported Fascism/Nazism beforeWW II is well documented.

"What unions were allowed under the" USSR?

"Similarly the NAZI Deputies generally supported proposals by the parties of the left for increases in the level of expenditures for state welfare aid. They also joined with the left in rejecting demands of the right that a means test be required of applicants for state welfare aid."

"The Nazi's alone supported repeated communist efforts to raise sharply the level of tax exempt wages for low income groups, reduce the tax rates for those groups, and impose heavier taxation on the wealthy." Henry Ashby Turner, Jr., "German Big Business and the Rise of Hitler," Oxford University Press, Oxford 1985, p. 66

Churchill was a progressive. Surely you know that.

Yes, Fascists, Nazis, and Communists are rather like potatoes.
There is the Russet, the Red Bliss, the Yukon Gold etc., but they are all potatoes.

A realistic political spectrum would stretch between the maximum achievable level of individual liberty to totalitarianism on the other end.

Hannah Arendt describes how socialist theory was used to create the totalitarian models and often focuses on the similarities between the "Communist" USSR and "National Socialist" Germany.

"Similar nontotalitarian dictatorships sprang up in prewar Rumania,
Poland, the Baltic states, Hungary, Portugal and Franco Spain. The Nazis, who
had an unfailing instinct for such differences, used to comment contemptuously
on the shortcomings of their Fascist allies while their genuine admiration for
the Bolshevik regime in Russia (and the Communist Party in Germany) was matched
and checked only by their contempt for Eastern European races. 12
The only man for whom Hitler had "unqualified respect" was "Stalin the genius," 13
(13 Hitlers Tischgesprdche, p. 113. There we also find numerous examples showing that,
contrary to certain postwar legends, Hitler never intended to defend "the West" against
Bolshevism but always remained ready to join "the Reds" for the destruction of the West,
even in the middle of the struggle against Soviet Russia. See especially pp. 95, 108,
    113 ff., 158, 385.

The Y axis of political identity goes from extreme authoritarianism (you may call it authoritarianism) to extreme libertarianism. Personally, I've not been able to distinguish between authoritarianism and totalitarianism.
The X axis of political identity goes from extreme love of capitalism to divvy up goods and services to an extreme love of socialism to divvy up goods and services.

Contrary to most misinformation about what constitutes fascism, for example, the Y axis of political identity actually identifies fascism not the the X axis of political identity.

I'm betting that to you he is, which simply confirms why you shouldn't be discussing historical events in Europe. You are incapable of seeing them as they were, but have to jam them into the ideological constructs of the American right.

I'll stick with history & leave the propaganda to you.

You have been misinformed. I blame the schools.
    The inconvenient truth:

“Simultaneously, Churchill was becoming increasingly concerned about the problems of working people and supported social welfare measures similar to those that the German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck had enacted in Germany in the late nineteenth century. As early as 1906, Churchill favored a government guarantee for employment and the nationalization of natural monopolies such as railroads. As he said
I am of opinion that the State should increasingly assume the position of the reserve employer of labor. I am very sorry we have not got the railways of this country in our hands. We may do something better with the canals, and we are all agreed … that the State must increasingly and earnestly concern itself with the care of the sick and the aged, and, above all, of the children.”

    Good post.

"Although it has been most often used to describe Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union, the word “totalitarian”—totalitarismo—was first used in the context of Italian fascism. Invented by one of his critics, the term was adopted with enthusiasm by Benito Mussolini, and in one of his speeches he offered what is still the best definition of the term: “Everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state.”
