I've yet to go to Australia, I'm British raised in the UK, but growing up in Britain, we've had Aussie TV shows mainstream here since before I was born. I like Nothing To Declare, that airs at the moment (Literally, Sky Living, right now)
Some of our tv is good, some is just trying too hard. I watched the first season of Cleverman but I found it too derivative. Same with a show called Glitch. Didn't bother to watch the second series. The Code was another one that looked promising but didn't really live up to the promise. The worst thing about it is that we get our locals hyped up about what ends up being fair to middling drama. I'm struggling to think of a local production that I can really recommend. Film is different, looking forward to going along to see Sweet Country.
There was an Aussie TV show that NEVER AIRED in the UK, but I like from YouTube. Chaser's War on Everything.
Yes the Chasers were good. That reminds me, one good one I forgot. Utopia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopia_(Australian_TV_series)
