Australia likes to condemn America and Trump for not signing the Paris deal but as they do that.....

"Australia’s emissions over the past year were the highest on record, when relatively unreliable emissions from land use are excluded, according to estimates by the carbon consultancy NDEVR Environmental.

Greenhouse gas emissions continued to rise in recent quarters, with the most recent the second highest for any quarter since 2011, despite electricity emissions being driven down by wind generation.

The government’s official public release of data on emissions is now six months behind and NDEVR Environmental’s estimations attempt to mirror that methodology. Released in partnership with Guardian Australia, the results have proven very accurate when compared with data eventually released by the federal government.

The ever-increasing emissions are taking Australia further from both its carbon-reduction commitments made in Paris and the much bigger reductions demanded by the science-based targets, recommended by the government’s Climate Change Authority."

What do you expect ? We have a conservative govenment that has always had its lips pressed firmly to the USA backside

When Trump pulled out of the Paris accords it was a green light for the government to stall on our Greenhouse gas emissions

You will now get a lecture from the OP about how you don't know your own country and that HE knows it better cause he slept at a Holiday Inn last night.

So Australia increases C02 and it's Trump's fault. Did Trump and the Russians conspire to elect your conservative government too? LOL

No. We didn't keep our promises to the Paris accord because - why should we if America isnt?

Isn't that your underlying premise within the OP?

Why should America move on its greenhouse gases when Australia isnt?

No my premise in the OP is the entire world including Australia has condemned Trump for not signing the Paris accord they are all ignoring anyway. They have all increased their C02 output as America has reduced it's contribution. Get it now?

"Today Australia joined over 150 countries in signing the Paris Agreement, securing a global agreement to combat climate change"

looking further into why your emissions have fallen (and it is not by much according to the EPA)

    https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions/sources-greenhouse-gas-emissions

Gee wonder why you had WARMER WINTERS??? Hint hint global warming

Now WE on the other hand have had rolling ****ing heat waves and what happens when we have heat waves - you guessed it! Air conditioning

Mind you it is still early for the real impact of Trumps policies in the USA to kick in and I am betting if he does not get the boot, that by the end of his presidency your GHG emissions will outstrip ours by gigatons

You may not be having warmer winters but that does not mean the rest of the country is not

Sorry but do you not do stats 101 in America? One result can be an anomaly a thousand results shows a trend

Why is it that Australians fallow America's lead like a little lost puppy. Do you let your kids get away with such a worthless excuse like that. America never ratified the Paris Accord so we had no promises to break. Obama might have promised but he had a little trouble understanding how the government works. He was under the illusion that he was elected temporary director.

I wish I knew the answer to that question but I guess the reason why we follow so slavishly is the same reason why the loudmouths in a crowd get a following

I love the fact that many of those screaming about "There is no global warming" and "why should America do anything about our carbon emissions" are also the SAME posters bragging about how America has lowered its emissions

So how much of that was Obama era policies working since the decline happened BEFORE Trump took office? Surely if America decreasing its carbon emissions is a good thing then why did Trump kill the solar industry

AUS has never met its emissions goals. To actually meet them would put AUS back to the early to mid 20th century. Like all the AGW loons, its all talk.

You can point fingers and assign blame all you want but you can't escape these facts.

"Australia’s emissions over the past year were the highest on record"
"The ever-increasing emissions are taking Australia further from both its carbon-reduction commitments made in Paris and the much bigger reductions demanded by the science-based targets, recommended by the government’s Climate Change Authority."

And you are not alone. Every country in the world including those that signed the Paris agreement have been increasing their C02 output as they condemn America for not signing the worthless piece of paper. Not only that but of all the countries in the world The US is the only one besides I believe Ukraine that has actually reduced it's C02 output. The old "people in Glass houses shouldn't throw stones" thing.

You also tried to wiggle out of this by saying "why should we keep our promise if you won't". Funny part is we promised nothing but actually did what you promised to do. We lowered our C02 output.
