I expect the right to try replicating some tactics from the US - there are always people who see women as incubators on legs. The difference here is that we have a grown up electoral system and haven't largely outsourced legislation to the courts. Anyone who tries to limit access to abortions will have to get it through a parliament and defend it at an election where 90% plus of eligible voters vote and seats are not gerrymandered.

    Good luck with that.

More luck with drafting a workable bill. One of the reasons that Qld rewrote its abortion laws to be more “liberal” was that the statute was ****ing useless! See there is a choice - either make the law so medical reasons for abortion are allowed and then it might as well be written on toilet paper or make the law so that it precludes any medical reason and watch women die

Any government that made any serious attempt to outlaw abortion would lose at the next election even if it could get it through parliament.....and the odds of that happening would be slim. The number of defectors from the Libs & possibly even the Nats would doom any bill.

As you say, it would be unlikely to even get drafted. Bad news for the 'women are breeding machines' crowd.

They locked people down because of a virus. Using them as an example weakens the argument.

It is about the right to life of a child in utero. Just as our U.S. Federal Law The UVVA recognizes this right to life!
