Far-right Austrian presidential candidate Norbert Hofer admits defeat to independent Van der Bellen. Hofer conceded within minutes of the first projections in this rerun. It's thought that his Trump-style campaigning backfired in Austria. His independent opponent was winning by 53.3 percent to 46.7 percent with nearly 100 percent of the votes counted. Alexander Van der Bellen preached moderation and tolerance.

The political right is never referred to as 'the right' in Europe (and especially the BBC), it's always 'the far right'. Think 'subliminal brainwashing'!

I can't really agree with that. In the German speaking media, Austria's FPÖ is usually regarded as "right" or often "populistic", "populistic - right", which IMO is quite accurate. Cannot really comment on the BBC.
There are quite a lot of political scientists who looked at the FPÖ and their programme under scientific-academic aspects and (based on what I've read) they pretty much all come to the same conclusion that they are "extreme right."
Former FPÖ leader Jörg Haider used to be a welcomed visitor and speaker with Waffen SS veteran groups. In my book, that is far right.

That's fair enough, and I admit that my only news source is the BBC so I should have made that clear.
